Clarification of the different places where a customer can view the total cost of goods sold (COGS) in Qoyod, and the difference between each location.
First: Income Statement (Profit and Loss Report)
This is the main place to know the total cost of goods sold for a specific period.

From the sidebar menu, go to Reports.

Select Income Statement.

Click on Advanced Analysis from the top options.

Select the desired time period (from date, to date).

You will see the “Cost of Goods Sold” item as a total figure within the report.
This report gives you the complete picture: Total Revenue, Total Cost of Goods Sold = Gross Profit.
Second: Account Statement (Cost of Goods Sold Account)
You can view the details of the cost of goods sold account movements directly:

From the sidebar menu, go to Reports

Select the “Account Statement” report

Select the “Cost of Goods Sold” account and select the period.

Click on “Search” to view all movements and the total balance.
Third: Invoice Details and Profit Margin Report (Cost Per Item)
Through Reports and then “Invoice Details and Profit Margin Report” – this report displays the cost of goods sold (COGS) for each item within each sales invoice, not as a single total figure.

If the customer wants to know the total from this report, they can export the report to Excel and then sum the COGS column.
When to Direct the Customer to Which Report?

Wants a total figure for a specific period → Income Statement

Wants details of cost account movements → Account Statement

Wants the cost of each item in each invoice → Invoice Details and Profit Margin Report
Important Note: When a customer asks “where is the cost of goods” or “where is the total cost of goods,” start by directing them to the Income Statement first because they usually are looking for the total figure, then ask if they need more details.
