This article shows how to change the language of the Qoyod POS app on Android and choose between the light and dark themes, and how your choice is saved to your account and follows you to any device.
What is this, and when do you use it?
The Qoyod POS app on Android supports seven languages: Arabic, English, Urdu, Hindi, Bengali, French and Simplified Chinese. Each user has their own language and theme. You need this in these cases:
- You want to work in the app in a language you know well.
- You work on a device shared with other cashiers and want the screen in your language when you sign in.
- You work long or night shifts and prefer the dark theme.

Before you start
- No permission or special setup is needed. Every user changes their own language and theme.
- The feature is available in the Qoyod POS Android app. The Web POS supports Arabic and English only.
The path in Qoyod
To change the language:
Settings › Profile › Language
To change the theme:
Settings › Profile › Theme
Steps
Change the app language
- Open Settings, then Profile.
- Tap Language.
- Choose your language from the list.
- The app restarts in the language you chose.
The language option is also on the sign-in screens, so you can pick it before you sign in.
Change the app theme
- Open Settings, then Profile.
- Tap Theme.
- Choose Light, Dark or System default.
The sign-in screens have a quick toggle between the two themes.
Fields
- Language: Arabic, English, Urdu, Hindi, Bengali, French or Simplified Chinese.
- Theme: Light, Dark or System default, which follows the device theme.
Special cases
A device shared by several cashiers
Each user’s language is saved to their account. When each cashier signs in with their PIN, the screen switches to their language.
Screen direction
The screen is right-to-left for Arabic and Urdu, and left-to-right for every other language.
System messages
Messages that come from Qoyod, such as errors and validations, arrive in your language.
Notes
- Product, category, account, tax and branch names exist in Arabic and English only. They appear in Arabic when the app is in Arabic, and in English for every other language.
- Receipts print in Arabic or English according to the receipt printing language setting, whatever the screen language.
- In the Web POS, your choice between Arabic and English is saved to your Qoyod account.
