Products and Costs › Add Product
Unit of Measure
Select the unit of measure from the list, or add a new unit by clicking the (+) icon. You can view, edit, and delete units from “Manage Units”.
Barcode
You can enter the product barcode in two ways:
- Manual entry: with an unlimited number of digits.
- Random generation: Qoyod generates a barcode number automatically, which can be downloaded as an image for printing.
- If the product has more than one barcode for classification purposes, add the first one in “Serial Number” and the second in the “Barcode” field (used at the point of sale).
Tax
Qoyod supports three types of VAT calculation:
- Zero-rated tax 0%: the merchant pays tax on raw products and the consumer does not bear it.
- Tax-exempt 0%: neither the merchant nor the consumer bears any tax (the product/service is not subject to tax, or the business is not registered in the tax system).
- VAT 15%: an indirect tax on all products and services purchased and sold by businesses at a rate of 15%.
Product Image
You can attach an image for the product to appear on its page and Invoices.
Unit Conversion
Qoyod lets you handle products with different units. You can convert between two units by specifying the quantity that the second unit equals from the first unit. For example: a water case = 12 bottles.
- The base unit is set automatically in the second field of unit conversion.
- You can set a sale and purchase price for the new unit and a dedicated barcode for it.
- You can cancel unit conversion by clicking the “cancel icon” next to the unit conversion field.
Completing Product Details
- Is the product stored or not?
- Sale price and revenue account: the account where revenue is recorded upon sale.
- Purchase price and cost account: the account where the product cost is recorded.
