What is the Chart of Accounts
A list of every account used in the organization, classified by a specific structure based on the size and nature of the business. It is the foundation of the organization’s accounting system.
The seven levels
Qoyod provides 7 levels for the Chart of Accounts. The first level starts with the main accounts using the following coding:
Balance sheet accounts
- 1: Assets.
- 2: Liabilities.
- 3: Equity.
Income statement accounts
- 4: Revenue.
- 5: Expenses.
Sub-accounts
Sub-accounts fall under the main accounts and are coded so their relationship with the parent account is clear. Further sub-branching can be applied the same way down to the seventh level. You can also create custom coding tailored to your organization’s policy.
