This article explains the QR code on e-invoices in Qoyod, what it contains, the difference between Phase 1 and Phase 2 codes, and how to adjust its size.
What the QR code contains
The QR code on an e-invoice carries the invoice’s core data in an encoded format readable by ZATCA apps. The data includes:
- Seller name.
- Seller VAT number.
- Invoice timestamp.
- Total invoice value (VAT inclusive).
- VAT amount.
Difference between Phase 1 and Phase 2
- Phase 1: The QR code contains only the five core data fields, and is required only on simplified tax invoices (B2C).
- Phase 2: The QR code additionally contains the Cryptographic Stamp and the invoice Hash, and is required on all invoices.
Adjusting the QR code size
For businesses whose invoices include a large number of products, the QR code may need a larger size to ensure readability:
- Open “Settings” then “General Settings”.
- Select “Sales Invoice Settings”.
- Choose the QR code size from the available list.
- Save.
Notes
- Qoyod generates the QR code automatically on every invoice according to the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) requirements for the phase activated in your account.
- An unclear QR code on the printed invoice can cause issues during audits. Make sure the print quality and code size are appropriate.
