This article explains how to import manual Journal Entries in Qoyod from an Excel file in bulk, with the template fields and the rules for filling them in.

Steps
- From the “Accounting” menu, open “Manual Journal Entries”.
- Click “Import”.
- Download the template file in XLSX format.
- Fill in the data according to the fields below.
- Upload the file through the import field.
Import template fields
- Entry sequence (mandatory): a unique serial number used to distinguish between Journal Entries in the file.
- Date (mandatory): filled in once on the first row of each entry sequence, in the date format supported by Excel.
- Entry description (mandatory): filled in on the first row of each entry sequence.
- Account type: from the dropdown list (general ledger accounts, payment from Customer, payment to Supplier).
- Account code (mandatory): for each row in the entry.
- Contact / Tax / Employee: to link the entry to the related party:
- Accounts Receivable: a valid Customer reference number.
- Accounts Payable: a valid Supplier reference number.
- VAT Account: tax number identifier.
- Accrued Salaries: employee number.
- Other accounts: this field can be left blank.
- Debit (conditionally mandatory): the debit value, in numeric format. You only need to fill in one of the two columns (Debit or Credit).
- Credit (conditionally mandatory): the credit value, in numeric format.
Notes
- You can add more than one entry in the same file with different dates, provided that the entry sequence is unique from one entry to another.
- Debit and Credit must balance within each entry before the import is accepted.
