POS Sales Screen Upgrades: Scale Barcodes, Multiple Units and Live Stock

October 5, 2026

The «New Invoice» sales screen in Qoyod POS is now faster for weighed and multi-unit products, and clearer about stock. The upgrades reach the Web POS and the Android app, and suit supermarkets, minimarkets, butchers, bakeries, produce shops, wholesale counters and merchants with large catalogs.

What is new

Scale barcodes:

  • The POS reads labels printed by a weighing scale: the first 7 digits identify the product, and the digits after them carry the weight or quantity, with up to 3 decimals.
  • The quantity is filled in automatically on the invoice line.
  • Works with a hardware scanner on the Web, and with a hardware scanner or the phone camera on the app.
  • When one barcode matches several products, the cashier picks the right one from the Choose the desired product list.

Multiple selling units:

  • A product with unit conversions, such as piece, box or carton, can be sold in any of its units.
  • Each unit has its own price and barcode.
  • On the Web the unit is picked on the product tile, and on the app in the line editor.

Live stock on the Web:

  • Product tiles show Available, and out-of-stock items show Out of Stock.
  • Before a stock-tracked item is added, its stock is checked, and the cashier sees a warning that the requested quantity exceeds the available stock.
  • The app dims out-of-stock tiles.

Grid display (Web and app):

  • From Grid display settings on the Web, or the product display settings on the app, choose Grid size (automatic or a fixed number of columns) and Show product image.
  • Your choice is saved on the device.

Also:

  • On the app, each category shows how many products it holds, and empty categories are hidden.
  • On the Web, the product list refreshes every 5 minutes, when the window is reopened, and after each sale. Sync Products shows the time of the last sync.
  • The new Saudi Riyal symbol appears on screen and on receipts. Organizations that use another currency see their own.

How to use scale barcodes

  1. In Qoyod, give the product a barcode equal to the 7-digit product code that the scale prints.
  2. At the counter, scan the scale label.
  3. The product is added to the invoice with the weight as its quantity.

No new permission is needed, and the only setting is the grid display preference. The label must follow the format above: product code first, then the weight, with no price embedded. Live stock only applies to products that track quantity.

Who it is for

Cashiers in weighed-goods and fast retail shops, and wholesale counters. It means faster checkout for weighed goods, fewer quantity errors, no overselling past the available stock, and a screen layout that suits each counter.
