Guidelines for Duplicate Product Alerts: How to Enable or Disable in the System

• The system gives you an automatic alert “This product has already been added” if you repeat the same product more than once in the same document while creating it, to maintain data accuracy and reduce errors.

  Steps

  1. Adding the Product

     • If you add the same product a second time, an alert appears:
       “This product has already been added, do you want to continue?”

  2. Choosing the Action

     • Yes, Continue: Adds the duplicate product.

     • Cancel: Automatically clears the field.

  3. Enabling or Disabling the Alert

     • From the menu: Settings > General Settings > Product Settings.

     • Enable or disable the option: “Show alert when a product is repeated in the same business document”.

  Exceptions

  • If you create a document by copying a business document or by return, the alert only appears if you add or edit the product manually.

  • The alert works whether you enter the product manually or via barcode.

  Important Notes

  • The alert is enabled by default for all entities.

  • It facilitates tracking products within documents and prevents unintended duplication.

  • It ensures greater accuracy in financial reports and invoices.

  • The system allows you to add the same product in another line. It only displays an alert message to confirm that this action is intentional, to avoid errors. You can bypass this alert and continue.
