Fixed Assets Option Not Appearing in Opening Balances Despite Module Availability

Steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue where the Fixed Assets type does not appear within the opening balance types in Accounting > Manual Journal Entries > Opening Balances.

Possible Causes and Verification Steps

  1. The plan does not support Fixed Assets: The Fixed Assets module is available only in the Advanced (Advance) plan and the discontinued Advanced plan and Qoyod Plan – ensure the customer is subscribed to the correct plan.

  2. User Permissions: Even if the module is visible, the permission for Accounting > Manual Journal Entries > Opening Balances and Fixed Assets permission must be enabled for the user. Test through the SUPER ADMIN account.

  3. The Correct Path: Ensure the customer is in Accounting > Manual Journal Entries > Opening Balances (the top tab), not another path.

If Everything Is Correct and the Problem Persists

If the customer is on the Advanced plan and the Fixed Assets module is working and the fiscal year is open and they are on SUPER ADMIN and yet the option is not visible, this typically requires technical support team inspection and enablement of account-level settings. Escalate the conversation to a team member with clarification that all previous checks have been completed.
