Why Depreciation Value Appears Negative When Recording Depreciation for an Asset

Clarification on why the depreciation value appears as negative when adding recorded depreciation to an asset in Qoyod.

Answer:

  • The reason the depreciation value appears as negative is that the depreciation start date was entered after the last calculated depreciation date.
  • Depreciation is calculated based on the depreciation start and end dates. Therefore, if the depreciation start date is set after the last depreciation date, the depreciation value will appear as negative in the calculation.

Additional Notes:

  • Ensure that the depreciation start date is updated to be compatible with the asset receipt date or the last depreciation date to avoid negative values appearing.
