How to Set Create-Only Permission for Manual Entries

Currently, there is no separate permission to prevent editing manual entries. If the user has “Add Entries” permission, they can edit them after input.

Alternative Solution:
Grant the user “Create Only” permission, in which case:

  • They can create a new journal entry

  • They cannot view or edit any previous entries

Steps:

  1. From Settings > Users

  2. Select Manage Roles from the top left of the screen

  3. Click “Edit” next to the role you want to modify

  4. Enable only the “Create” permission next to Journal Entries

  5. Save changes

Important Note:

  • If there is a need to develop a separate permission to prevent editing, it can be submitted as a technical suggestion

Keywords for inquiry:

  • Can I prevent the user from editing manual entries and only allow input permission?
