Display Invoice Total in Words

First: What is meant by displaying the value in writing?

You can display the total invoice value in words (Arabic + English) alongside the number within the invoice.

The value in words is calculated automatically based on:

• The final invoice total
• After calculating the tax
• And after applying discounts

This text appears:

• When printing the invoice
• Or downloading it as PDF

Second: How to add the value in writing within the invoice

Follow these steps:

1. From the main menu:
   • Settings
   • Then General Settings
2. From the options at the top:
   • Document settings (Sales invoice / Purchase invoice / Credit note / Debit note)
3. Click on:
   • Open the designer from the bottom of the page
4. From within the designer:
   • Click on (…) next to the toolbar then go to the Document details tab
5. Add the field:
   • Amount in words in Arabic or Amount in words in English
6. Place the field in the appropriate location within the invoice design
7. Click:
   • Save

Third: What happens after saving?

After saving the changes:

• The invoice total will be displayed in words automatically
• The text appears according to the invoice currency
• It applies to all invoices that use the same template

Fourth: Explanation of what appears in the invoice designer screen

When selecting this field:

• You can drag or place it within the invoice form
• It is typically placed below the invoice total

After adding it:

• It appears as a text element linked to the total
• It does not require manual input
• It is updated automatically based on the invoice value

Fifth: The appearance of the invoice after adding it

After applying the field, the invoice will contain:

• Invoice total in numbers (example: 11,200.00)
• And directly below it:
  • The value in words (example: Eleven thousand two hundred riyals only)

This appears:

• Within the printed invoice
• Or PDF version

Important notes

• The value in words cannot be entered manually (it is done automatically)
• It depends on the currency specified in the invoice
• It only appears if added within the invoice template
• If it does not appear:
  • Make sure the invoice uses the same template that was modified
