Clarification on why the message ‘Account in Use – Already Used’ appears when adding a new account. This message displays when you add an account in the chart of accounts if there is already an account with the same name added previously.
To verify:

Review the added accounts:

Check if there is already an account with the same name.

Click on Reset Filters:

From the filter options in the chart of accounts.

The account may exist but the filters might be hiding it.

Check the Account Archive:

From the top of the chart of accounts page, select ‘Account Archive’.

The account may be archived and hidden from the main view.

Additional Notes:

If the account is archived, you can restore it instead of creating a new account with the same name.
