When to Use Each Report? (Important)
- If the customer wants quantity + value for each item currently: Use Product Cost and Profit Margin Report directly—it combines both in a single report.
- If the customer wants quantity + value for each item as of a past date (e.g., year-end 12/31): The Product Cost and Profit Margin Report does not support past dates—it displays current data only. In this case, use two reports:
- For quantity as of a past date: Product Location Report with the date field changed to the desired date.
- For value as of a past date: Account Statement Report → Select Inventory Account and specify the desired date (provides the total accounting value of inventory on that date).
Note for Staff/AI: Do not suggest the customer create a Pivot Table or XLOOKUP in Excel from the Inventory Movement Report as a primary solution—this is an approach outside the system. The official method is the two reports above.
If you prefer separate reports for product quantity and product value, here are the following reports: “Product Location Report, Inventory Account Statement”
