How to Manage Product Location Reports and User Access Permissions

Here’s how to manage access permissions for the product locations report and view specific locations. The product locations report is linked to the ability to view the Sales and Purchases Summary report.

  • When you grant a user permission to view the Sales and Purchases Summary report, the product locations report will automatically appear to them.

  • The report will display only the locations the user has permission to access.

To manage permissions:

First: Permission for locations the user is allowed to access:

  1. Go to Settings.

  2. Click on Users.

  3. Click on Edit next to the desired user.

  4. Select the locations you want to grant the user access to.

    • The user will be able to view transactions and products only in the locations authorized for them.

    • Unauthorized locations will not appear in the product locations report.

Second: Permission for the “Sales and Purchases Summary” report:

To grant a user permission to view the Sales and Purchases Summary report, go to Settings, then Users, then click “Manage Roles” in the top options, then click Edit next to the role associated with the desired user, then enable the options for the “Sales and Purchases Summary” section.

Additional Notes:

  • Location control prevents the user from creating invoices or viewing transactions in unauthorized locations.

  • The product locations report cannot be hidden if the Sales and Purchases Summary report permission is enabled for the user.
