Why Output Tax Appears Without Input Tax in Tax Returns: Verifying Purchase Invoices and Using the Correct Account (2105)

Guidelines on why only output tax appears in the tax return without input tax.

Answer:

If only output tax appears in the tax return without input tax, you should verify the following:

1. Verify that sales invoices and purchase invoices have actually been entered during the period for which the report is being generated

If purchase invoices have not been entered, purchase tax will not appear in the report. If sales invoices have not been entered, sales tax will not appear in the report.

2. Verify the tax account used in Qoyod.

  • The correct account to use for tax is account 2105, which is the account designated for sales and purchase tax.
  • If you use an account other than 2105, input tax or output tax will not appear correctly in the tax return.

Additional Notes:

  • Make sure you use account 2105 in the accounting entries to ensure that input tax and output tax appear in the tax return.
