Account Archiving Impact: Financial Report Changes and Balance Transfer to Parent Account

Clarification of the impact of archiving accounts on their appearance in different reports within the system.

1. Reports in which the archived account appears:

   • Account statement report:
     • The archived account appears with all transactions related to it naturally.

2. Reports in which the archived account does not appear:

   • General ledger.
   • Trial balance.
   • Balance sheet.
     • The balance of the archived account is transferred to the parent account it belongs to.

3. Practical example:

   • If an account “Cash” listed under “Cash and cash equivalents” is archived, the balance of “Cash” will appear within the account “Cash and cash equivalents” in reports such as the balance sheet and trial balance.
