In an account holding thousands of documents, finding the right invoice inside the allocation window meant a long scroll through the list. We added a reference number search inside the window itself.
You can now search for an invoice, a bill, or a simplified invoice by its reference number directly inside the allocation or payment window, without scrolling through the full document list.
Update details
- A search field at the top of the document list inside the allocation or payment window, labelled “search by reference number”.
- The field accepts Arabic, English, and numbers.
- Results start appearing once 3 or more characters are entered, covering documents whose reference number starts with the entered text or contains it anywhere.
- The search ignores letter case, spaces, and common separators such as the hyphen or the slash.
- Each result shows the reference number, document type, date, and amount due.
- Leaving the field empty restores the default list of eligible documents in the current order.
Results show only documents eligible for allocation, such as approved or partially paid ones, and within the user’s permissions on that document type. If nothing matches, a clear message says so without raising an error.

Faster selection of the right document when allocating payments or notes, particularly in document-heavy accounts, and less reliance on manual scrolling.
