2. A flat move in your books: from the survey visit to delivery
A family moves the furniture of their flat from Amman to Zarqa. The move passes five stops in your books, and each stop has its figure on the journey card.
Stop 1: The family asks for a quotation after the survey
Prepare a quotation in Qoyod listing the move, the disassembly and assembly and the boxes, with an expiry date; send it to the family or download it as a PDF, and once it is approved turn it into a sales invoice.
Stop 2: The family pays the deposit
Enter the deposit as a receipt for the client. Until the move’s invoice exists, the receipt shows Unused.
Stop 3: The truck fare on moving day
Record it as a simple invoice in the truck owner’s name, where you choose the expense account, and link it to the move’s project, depending on your subscription.
Stop 4: The loading crew’s wages
Record what you paid the crew supplier as a second simple invoice in their name, and link it to the same project, depending on your subscription.
Stop 5: Delivery and its invoice
Raise the sales invoice for the move’s lines and apply the deposit receipt to it; the invoice shows Partially paid while the rest is still due from the client.

The move’s lines on one invoice
In Qoyod the move and the disassembly and assembly are products of type “Service”. A service never enters stock and is never bought; it is sold, with a selling price, a revenue account, a tax and a unit of measure of your choosing, an hour or a piece for instance. The boxes you hand over to the family are a product you sell, counted by the box. One sales invoice then holds all these lines, settled at once or on credit, and any line’s unit price can be changed where the deal differs.
A quotation after the home visit
The home visit gives you the move’s lines; turn them into a quotation with an expiry date and send it to the client or download it as a PDF. When the client accepts and it is Approved in Qoyod, turning it into a sales invoice sets its status to Invoiced.
The deposit, then what is left
A deposit taken before the invoice goes on a receipt and keeps the status Unused while it belongs to no invoice. When you raise the move’s invoice, press Pay and apply the receipt to part of it, so the invoice reads Partially paid; whatever the client pays after delivery goes on a second receipt.
The truck and the crew
Record the truck fare and the loading crew’s wages as a simple invoice in each supplier’s name with the expense account, and one invoice can carry more than one expense account. Then pay it with a new voucher, or with an earlier one if you paid that supplier before moving day.
The move as a project, as an alternative
An alternative way to read each move’s figures on their own: open a project for the move under Tasks and projects, depending on your subscription, and select it in the Additional information tab of the sales invoice and of the truck and crew invoices. Filtering the income statement by that project from Advanced analysis then shows only what you linked to it; projects are available depending on your subscription, so ask sales about them.
The account of a company that pays later

7. Frequently asked questions
Do furniture moving companies have to issue invoices through the National Invoicing System (JoFotara)?
The e-invoicing mandate covers every seller of goods or provider of services, not only those registered for General Sales Tax, except for activities that the Invoicing Affairs Instructions exempt under set conditions. A seller that is not registered issues an income invoice. Mandatory application has been in force since 1 April 2025, with oversight steadily tightening. Other sectors were added to the list in Article (4) of the Invoicing Affairs Instructions by later amendments, so it is not a closed list. Check the text in force for your activity with the Income and Sales Tax Department.

If a business is not required to issue invoices, does that mean it pays no sales tax?
Not by itself. An exemption from the provisions of the Invoicing Regulation, where one applies, does not on its own exempt anyone from General Sales Tax or income tax, each of which has its own law. Check your tax position with your accountant.
How do I put the move, the disassembly and assembly and the boxes on one invoice?
Under Products and costs, create a “Service” product for the move and a second one for the disassembly and assembly, each with a default selling price, a revenue account and a unit of measure, and create the boxes as a product you sell. Open a new sales invoice, choose the first line and add the others with Add more; lines start at their default price, and you can overwrite it.
How do I record a deposit a client pays before moving day?
Under Sales, open Customer receipts and create a receipt for the family with the amount they paid. With no invoice linked, it is listed as Unused. After delivery, open the move’s invoice, choose Pay and apply that receipt to part of the amount.
