The garden’s design, seedlings and installation on one invoice, and what the customer pays up front on a receipt in their name.
Whether your company is exempt from the invoicing mandate today or required to issue invoices, the design and the installation are services and the seedlings a product on the same invoice.
Landscaping Accounting Software in Jordan puts the whole garden on one invoice: its design, its seedlings and the installation work. In Amman, Irbid or Zarqa, a homeowner approves the design, pays part before the work starts and the rest after planting. In Qoyod, add the design and the installation as the “Service” type and the seedlings as a product, put all three on one sales invoice, and record what the customer pays with a receipt.
1. A landscaping company in Jordan: where do the numbers leak?
Before you choose accounting software for a landscaping company in Jordan, look at an ordinary week there: a design the engineer draws that finds no line on the invoice, money a homeowner pays before the seedlings arrive, seedlings bought from the nursery with nobody sure how many are left, and monthly maintenance contracts invoiced whenever someone remembers.
The design fee outside the invoice
The engineer spends days drawing the garden, then the invoice lists only the seedlings and the installation, and the design fee shows up nowhere.
With Qoyod: set up the design as a service with its price, and make it the first line on the garden’s invoice.
Money ahead of the seedlings
The homeowner hands you an amount before the planting starts, and you write him a paper receipt that gets lost in the pile before it reaches your accountant.
With Qoyod: enter the amount as a receipt in his name, and when you issue the garden’s invoice, use that receipt to settle part of it.
Seedlings with no balance
You buy eighty seedlings from the nursery, the workers plant what the site needs, and then no one can say how many remain.
With Qoyod: set up the seedlings as stored items; each purchase invoice adds to their balance and each sales invoice takes from it.
A maintenance invoice running late
The month ends, the lawns are mowed and the trees pruned, but the maintenance invoice never went out because nobody noticed.
With Qoyod: turn the contract invoice into a monthly recurring transaction that creates the invoice every month in the status you set, depending on your subscription.
2. One home garden, from design to monthly maintenance
A homeowner in Amman asks you to design and install his garden, then look after it every month. Here is the job in five stops; each stop writes a line on the journey card.
Stop 1: The homeowner asks for a quotation
Send him a quotation covering the design, the seedlings and the installation, with an expiry date. The seedlings stay in stock at this point: stock only moves once the quotation is approved and you convert it into a sales invoice.
Stop 2: He pays before the work starts
Create a receipt in his name for the amount; it shows as unused for as long as it is not allocated to an invoice.
Stop 3: You buy the seedlings from the nursery
Record the nursery’s purchase invoice with the quantity and the unit price, and the seedlings’ stock balance rises because they are stored items.
Stop 4: The garden is finished and the invoice goes out
Issue a sales invoice with the design and the installation as two services and the seedlings as a line, then apply the receipt to part of it; its status reads partially paid.
Stop 5: The monthly maintenance starts
After the first month’s invoice is approved, set it up as a monthly recurring transaction and give it an end, either a date or a number of recurrences.
3. Landscaping Accounting Software in Jordan: six tasks in your company’s books
Electronic invoicing and integrated accounting in one system. Beyond that, six tasks belong to a landscaping company, and some depend on your subscription, such as recurring transactions and projects.
Two services and a product on one invoice
Set up the design and the installation as products of the “Service” type: neither is stored, both are sold only, and each carries its own selling price, revenue account, unit of measure and tax. Add the seedlings as a product at their selling price, then list all three on one sales invoice, sold for cash or on credit, changing the unit price on any line when you agree a different figure.
Seedlings and materials in stock
Set up seedlings, soil and irrigation pipes as stored items: each purchase invoice from the nursery or supplier adds to their balance, and each sales invoice that sells them takes from it. If seedlings die before planting and the real count falls below your books, enter the actual quantity in an inventory count. For every item, the product cost and margin report gives the available quantity and the average unit cost.
Each garden as its own project
Add every garden you install as a project in Tasks and projects, choose it under “Additional information” on the sales invoice and on the purchase invoices that belong to it, then view the income statement filtered by that project from “Advanced analysis”. If you pay a haulage charge for soil, define the haulage as an “Expense” in Products and costs before you add it as a line on the purchase invoice. Projects are available depending on your subscription, so ask sales about them.
A maintenance invoice created every month
Once the first month’s invoice is approved, go to Recurring transactions under Accounting and add a new one: pick monthly as the recurrence type, enter the recurrence start date, let it end on a chosen date or after a maximum count, and attach the invoice as the document. You also choose whether new invoices arrive as drafts, pending approval or approved. Qoyod has no direct feature for adding contracts, so the documented route is to keep the contract as a project holding its number, start and end dates and value. Recurring transactions are available depending on your subscription.
A quotation for a garden before the work
Before a homeowner or a building’s management decides, they ask what the design and installation will cost. Hand them a quotation with an expiry date, either sent to them or saved as a PDF, and convert it into a sales invoice when its status is approved. If the stored seedlings fall short of the quoted quantity, the quotation will not convert.
The customer’s account and what they have paid
When you sell to a building’s management on credit, the invoice stays on credit until you log a receipt against it each time they pay, for the whole amount or a part. The balance shows in the customer statement, and the customer ageing report compares balances between periods. Per-customer price lists are not supported in Qoyod, so an agreed special price is entered on the invoice line. For the detail, read our explainer on collecting a credit sale invoice in JoFotara.
4. Landscaping companies and the National Invoicing System
Discuss your company’s position with your accountant.
Who must use e-invoicing in Jordan
Whether your company is exempt from the invoicing mandate or required to issue invoices, Qoyod keeps the books for your stock, purchases, sales and cash, and it is integrated with the National Invoicing System (JoFotara) for when you need it.
5. Your garden figures, between you and your accountant
Your accountant, or the accounting firm you work with, sees the same books you see in Qoyod. The question “does my company have to issue invoices through the system?” stays with your accountant and the Department; the invoices and receipts belong in Qoyod.

7. Frequently asked questions
Do landscaping companies have to issue invoices through the National Invoicing System (JoFotara)?
The e-invoicing mandate covers every seller of goods or provider of services, not only those registered for General Sales Tax, except for activities that the Invoicing Affairs Instructions exempt under set conditions. A seller that is not registered issues an income invoice. Mandatory application has been in force since 1 April 2025, with oversight steadily tightening. Other sectors were added to the list in Article (4) of the Invoicing Affairs Instructions by later amendments, so it is not a closed list. Check the text in force for your activity with the Income and Sales Tax Department.
More detail in our guide to the JoFotara exemption
If a business is not required to issue invoices, does that mean it pays no sales tax?
Not by itself. An exemption from the provisions of the Invoicing Regulation, where one applies, does not on its own exempt anyone from General Sales Tax or income tax, each of which has its own law. Check your tax position with your accountant.
How do I put the design, the seedlings and the installation on one invoice?
Under Products and costs, create the design and the installation as “Service” products, each given a default selling price, a revenue account and a unit of measure, and create the seedlings as a product at their selling price. On the sales invoice, enter the design as the first line, then use Add more for the seedlings and the installation. Each line shows its default selling price, which you can edit.
How do I invoice a garden maintenance contract every month without creating the invoice again?
After you approve the first month’s invoice, go to Accounting, then Recurring transactions, and press Create recurring transaction. Pick monthly as the recurrence type, enter the recurrence start date, end it by a date or a maximum count, attach the invoice as the document, and choose the status for the new invoices. The transaction reads scheduled until its first recurrence, then active, and it is completed when the recurrences run out. Recurring transactions are available depending on your subscription.
Does Qoyod assign workers to sites and schedule maintenance and irrigation?
Qoyod is accounting software, and this page covers invoices, receipts, stock and customer balances, plus projects depending on your subscription. Assigning workers to sites and scheduling maintenance or irrigation are not things this page shows, so ask our sales team what suits your company.
How do I record money a customer pays before the installation starts?
From the Sales menu, choose Customer receipts and create a receipt in the customer’s name for the amount collected. The receipt stays unused while it is not allocated to an invoice; once you issue the garden’s invoice, press Pay and apply the receipt to part of it.
