The order’s measurements as lines on an invoice, and its deposit as a receipt until the installation is done.
Whether your workshop is exempt from the invoicing mandate today or obliged by it, glass goes by the square metre, profiles by the linear metre, and installation gets a service line.
Aluminum and Glass Accounting in Jordan puts what you measure and what you install on one sales invoice. In Amman, Irbid or Zarqa, a flat owner orders aluminum windows with double glazing, your technician measures, and the owner pays a deposit so fabrication can start. In Qoyod, set up the glass and the profiles as products in the unit you sell them by, and fabrication and installation as a “Service” product, put them on one sales invoice, and record the deposit as a receipt first.
1. Between measuring and installing: where do an aluminum and glass workshop’s figures get lost?
Before you choose accounting software for an aluminum and glass workshop in Jordan, look at one order: it starts with measurements on a sheet, a deposit comes in before fabrication, the price of the glass sheets goes out to the supplier, and no single book holds all of it.
The price per metre in the owner’s head
The workshop owner knows the price of a square metre of glass and of installation, then writes only the total on a sheet for the client.
With Qoyod: give each material its unit of measure and installation a service, and put them as lines on one sales invoice.
A deposit on a handwritten slip
The flat owner pays a deposit before fabrication, and the amount stays on a paper slip until installation day.
With Qoyod: record it as a receipt in their name, then use it to settle part of the order’s invoice when you issue it.
Sheets nobody can count
Glass sheets and profile lengths arrive from the supplier, each order takes what it needs, and nobody knows what is left in the store.
With Qoyod: make them stored items whose balance grows with the purchase invoice and falls with the sales invoice.
An open account with the glass supplier
You take sheets from the supplier on credit, and their invoices pile up without you knowing how much you owe.
With Qoyod: record each purchase invoice in their name, and follow their balance on their statement.
2. A flat’s windows in your books: from the measurements to the receipt
A flat owner in Amman orders aluminum windows with double glazing. The order goes through five stops in your books, and each stop has its amount on the journey card.
Stop 1: A quotation after the measurements
Write the flat owner a quotation in Qoyod with the glass, the profiles and the installation and the offer’s expiry date, and once it is approved, turn it into a sales invoice.
Stop 2: A deposit before fabrication
Record it as a receipt in the client’s name; it stays Unused until you apply it to the order’s invoice.
Stop 3: Glass sheets from the supplier
Record the purchase invoice in the glass supplier’s name; the sheets’ balance in stock grows, and what you owe shows on their statement.
Stop 4: An invoice after installation
Issue the sales invoice on credit with the glass, profiles and installation lines, in the quantities you installed.
Stop 5: The deposit settles part of it
Press Pay on the invoice and choose the deposit receipt; the invoice shows Partially paid, and the receipt becomes Used because its whole value was applied.
3. Aluminum and Glass Accounting in Jordan: what Qoyod covers in your workshop
E-invoicing and full accounting in one system. Beyond that, six jobs in an aluminum and glass workshop, from the first measurement to the supplier’s account.
Square metres and linear metres
Every product in Qoyod has a unit of measure you choose when you create it, so give the glass the square metre and the profiles the linear metre, and add the unit with “+” if it is not in the list. Fabrication and installation is a “Service” product: it does not enter stock and is not bought, but it is sold with a price, a revenue account and a tax you set. One sales invoice holds all these lines, cash or on credit, each with its quantity in its unit.
The quotation from the measurement book
Turn the technician’s measurements into a quotation with the order’s lines and its expiry date, and send it to the client or download it as a PDF. Once it is approved, you turn it into a sales invoice and its status becomes Invoiced. Qoyod does not support a price list per customer, so the price you agree with a contractor goes on the line itself. When the document is sent to the national system is explained in Quotation vs invoice in JoFotara.
The deposit until installation day
What you collect as a deposit before fabrication goes on a receipt, and its status stays Unused while it belongs to no invoice. When you issue the order’s invoice, you press Pay and apply the receipt to it; the invoice shows Partially paid, and the receipt becomes Used once its whole value is applied. The difference between a receipt and an invoice in Jordan is explained in Receipt voucher vs invoice.
Sheets and profiles in the store
Make the sheets and profiles you keep stored items: their balance grows when you record a purchase invoice from the supplier and falls when you sell them on a sales invoice. In the product cost and margin report you see each item’s available quantity and average unit cost.
What you owe the glass supplier
Record the purchase invoice in the glass or profile supplier’s name, and pay what you owe in full or in parts from Supplier vouchers. Follow each supplier’s balance on their statement, and what is left for your suppliers in the supplier ageing report.
Facades for a contractor on credit
A contractor who buys the facades for their building on credit has a credit invoice that stays open until they pay. Follow what they owe on the customer statement, and compare what your customers still owe from one period to another in the customer ageing report.
4. Aluminum and glass workshops and the National Invoicing System

Who must use e-invoicing in Jordan
Whether your company is exempt from the invoicing mandate or obliged by it, Qoyod keeps the books for your stock, purchases, sales and cash, and it is integrated with the National Invoicing System (JoFotara) for when you need it.
5. What you follow and what your accountant reviews

7. Frequently asked questions
Do aluminum and glass workshops have to issue invoices through the National Invoicing System (JoFotara)?
The e-invoicing mandate covers every seller of goods or provider of services, not only those registered for General Sales Tax, except for activities that the Invoicing Affairs Instructions exempt under set conditions. A seller that is not registered issues an income invoice. Mandatory application has been in force since 1 April 2025, with oversight steadily tightening. Other sectors were added to the list in Article (4) of the Invoicing Affairs Instructions by later amendments, so it is not a closed list. Check the text in force for your activity with the Income and Sales Tax Department.
More detail in our guide to the JoFotara exemption
If a business is not required to issue invoices, does that mean it pays no sales tax?
Not by itself. An exemption from the provisions of the Invoicing Regulation, where one applies, does not on its own exempt anyone from General Sales Tax or income tax, each of which has its own law. Check your tax position with your accountant.
How do I put the glass, the profiles and the installation on one invoice?
In Products and costs, create the glass as a product measured in square metres and the profiles as a product measured in linear metres, and add any missing unit with “+”. Then create fabrication and installation as a “Service” product with a default selling price and a revenue account. On a new sales invoice, pick the first line, continue with Add more, and enter on each line the quantity the technician measured.
How do I record a deposit a client pays before fabrication?
From the Sales menu open Customer receipts, and create a customer receipt in the name of the client who placed the order, for the amount paid. It has no invoice yet, so its status is Unused. After installation, open the order’s invoice, press Pay, and choose that receipt to settle part of it.
Can a window I repeat at one size be a single product?
Yes, depending on your subscription, so ask sales about it: create it as a composite product whose components are the profiles, the glass and the fittings, each with its quantity. For a non-stored composite product, depending on your subscription, its components’ quantities are deducted from stock when you sell it, if they are available. A stored one gets its quantity, depending on your subscription, through a manufacturing order: “Start process” moves the components’ value to the temporary manufacturing account, and “Complete process” moves it to the product.
Does Qoyod work out cutting sizes and the glass each window needs?
Qoyod is accounting software, and what this page shows is quotations, sales and purchase invoices, customer receipts, stock and customer and supplier balances. Working out cutting sizes and the glass each window needs, and sending installers to sites, are not shown here.
That is how an order’s accounts come together in one place: its lines on an invoice, its deposit on a receipt, and its sheets in the store’s balance.
