The chandelier and its installation are two lines on one invoice, and what the customer pays is recorded on a receipt.
Exempt from the invoicing mandate today or required to issue invoices, your shop still keeps a line on an invoice for every sale and a receipt for every payment.
Lighting Store Accounting Software in Jordan puts the chandelier, its bulbs and the fee for installing it on one sales invoice. At a lighting showroom in Amman, Irbid or Zarqa, a customer buys a crystal chandelier and twelve bulbs, asks for it to be installed in their living room, and pays the full amount at delivery. In Qoyod the chandelier and the bulb are products you sell and the installation is a “Service” product, all lines on one invoice, and the payment is a receipt against it.
1. From the supplier to the ceiling: where a chandelier showroom’s numbers disappear
Before you choose accounting software for a chandelier or lighting shop in Jordan, look at a day when orders pile up: a costly chandelier waiting for the ceiling to be measured, an installation agreed over the phone, a deposit on a paper slip, and an interior designer who takes pieces for three villas and pays in stages.
A chandelier and its installation on paper
The seller agrees the chandelier’s price and the installation fee with the customer by phone, so only a slip of paper or memory holds the two together.
With Qoyod: make the chandelier a product you sell and the installation a service with its price, and put both on one sales invoice.
A deposit for a special order
A customer pays a deposit for a chandelier made in a size or finish requested just for them, and the amount stays on a handwritten receipt.
With Qoyod: record it as a customer receipt, and settle part of their invoice with it once it is issued.
A designer or contractor buying on account
An interior designer or a contractor takes pieces for several clients and pays in stages, so the showroom cannot easily say how much is still owed.
With Qoyod: set the payment terms on their invoice, and open the customer statement report to see their invoices, receipts and what remains.
Breakage in the shipment and on the showroom floor
A chandelier arrives after a long trip with some pieces broken, other pieces break in the showroom, and the cost reaches no ledger.
With Qoyod: run an inventory count, and the difference is posted to the cost account you pick.
2. A designer’s order in your books: from the quotation to their statement
An interior designer in Amman orders three chandeliers for a client’s villa and pays in two stages. The order passes five stops in your books, and the journey card keeps the amount of each one.
Stop 1: A quotation for the designer
Create a quotation for the designer that lists the three chandeliers and their installation, give it an expiry date, send it or save it as a PDF, and when its status is Approved, convert it into a sales invoice.
Stop 2: The designer pays the deposit
The deposit is recorded as a receipt in the designer’s name and remains Unused for as long as the invoice has not been issued.
Stop 3: The chandeliers arrive from the supplier
Book what you bought from the supplier on a purchase invoice in their name, and the chandeliers’ stock quantity rises at the price you paid.
Stop 4: The delivery and installation invoice
Issue the sales invoice for the chandeliers with the installation as a service, set the payment terms, and settle part of it with the deposit receipt; the invoice becomes Partially paid until the designer pays the rest.
Stop 5: The designer’s statement
Open the customer statement report in their name to find the delivery invoice, the deposit receipt and the outstanding balance, and record whatever they pay next as a new receipt.
3. Lighting Store Accounting Software in Jordan: what Qoyod covers in your showroom
E-invoicing and integrated accounting in one system. Beyond that, six jobs in a lighting showroom, from the shipment that arrives from the supplier to the last stock count.
A line for the chandelier, a line for its installation
Create the chandelier and the bulb in Qoyod as products you sell at their prices, and the installation as a “Service” product. A service is sold only, never stored or bought, and you set its selling price, revenue account, tax and unit of measure. A single sales invoice holds the chandelier, its bulbs and the installation, and whatever you note in the Description field beside the chandelier about the customer’s order, such as the frame colour or the size, appears in the invoice preview and in the PDF.
A reduction for a designer or contractor, within each seller’s limit
Qoyod has no price of its own for each customer today, so you write the designer’s or contractor’s price into the unit price on their invoice line. If you want to reduce it, add a discount to that line as a percentage or a value, and set for each user, in the users settings, the maximum discount percentage they can add.
A deposit for a special order, a quotation for a designer
A deposit paid before delivery goes under Customer receipts as a receipt, and as long as no invoice is linked to it, its status is Unused. If the order is for a designer or a contractor, collect the chandeliers and their installation on a quotation with an expiry date, send it or save it as a PDF, and when they accept it and its status is Approved, convert it into a sales invoice, which marks the quotation Invoiced. On the delivery day, open the invoice, choose Pay and settle part of it with the receipt, and the invoice becomes Partially paid.
An invoice paid in stages, and the customer statement
In a designer’s or contractor’s invoice, choose the payment terms that fit, and Qoyod sets the due date from them. Record each payment as a receipt in their name and apply it to their invoice with Pay. Then open the customer statement report from Reports in their name, and it lists sales invoices, receipts and credit notes, with the due date, the remaining amount of the invoice and the outstanding balance. Setting a credit limit for each customer is not currently available in Qoyod. More detail in our guide to collecting a credit-sale invoice in the National Invoicing System.
Chandeliers in stock, and what broke in the count
Define the chandeliers you buy to resell as stored products, and a purchase price and an expense account appear beside each selling price. What arrives from the supplier goes on a purchase invoice in their name, which raises the quantities in stock, costed by the average-cost method. At the end of the season, run an inventory count for the showroom’s location: pick the cost account for short quantities and enter the actual quantity, and Qoyod shows the difference at average cost and posts it to the account you picked. If you want a damaged-goods account of its own, add it first to the chart of accounts under operating expenses.
A chandelier that came back
If a customer brings a chandelier back, start from its invoice under Sales invoices and choose Return invoice; a credit note appears with every line of the invoice, and you keep only the lines that came back. The note lowers the customer’s balance, the original invoice is left unchanged, and Returned appears beside its status. When the customer had already paid, Refund produces a payment voucher from the cash box or the bank. The chandelier returns to stock only if it is a stored product.

7. Frequently asked questions
Do lighting stores have to issue invoices through the National Invoicing System (JoFotara)?
The e-invoicing mandate covers every seller of goods or provider of services, not only those registered for General Sales Tax, except for activities that the Invoicing Affairs Instructions exempt under set conditions. A seller that is not registered issues an income invoice. Mandatory application has been in force since 1 April 2025, with oversight steadily tightening. Other sectors were added to the list in Article (4) of the Invoicing Affairs Instructions by later amendments, so it is not a closed list. Check the text in force for your activity with the Income and Sales Tax Department.
More detail in our guide to the JoFotara exemption
If a business is not required to issue invoices, does that mean it pays no sales tax?
Not by itself. An exemption from the provisions of the Invoicing Regulation, where one applies, does not on its own exempt anyone from General Sales Tax or income tax, each of which has its own law. Check your tax position with your accountant.
How do I put a chandelier and its installation on one invoice?
Under Products and costs, create one product you sell for the chandelier and another for the bulb, each with a default selling price, plus a “Service” product for the installation with its price, revenue account and unit of measure. In a new sales invoice, pick the chandelier first, then add the bulbs and the installation with Add more; each line opens at its default price, which you can edit.
How do I record the deposit for a chandelier ordered from the supplier?
From the Sales menu open Customer receipts and create a receipt for the customer with the deposit amount; it reads Unused because no invoice is attached to it yet. At delivery, open the chandelier’s invoice, choose Pay and put that receipt against part of the amount.

How do I follow what a designer or contractor who bought on account still owes?
Choose the payment terms on their invoice, and Qoyod sets the due date from them; record each payment as a receipt in their name and apply it to their invoice. Then open the customer statement report from Reports, choose the customer and set the period, and you see their invoices, receipts and credit notes with the due date, the remaining amount and the outstanding balance. Setting a credit limit for each customer is not currently available in Qoyod.
Does Qoyod schedule installation appointments or track the installation technicians?
Qoyod is accounting software. This page shows customer receipts, sales invoices, credit notes and customer balances, together with quotations, purchase invoices and inventory counts. Scheduling installation appointments and following technicians are not shown on this page.
That brings a lighting showroom’s accounts together in one set of books: the chandelier and its installation on an invoice, and what the customer paid and still owes in their statement.
