A carpet by the metre, a sofa by the seat and delivery to the door on one invoice that the customer settles at handover.
Whether your business is exempt from the invoicing mandate today or required to issue invoices, each kind of wash is a service with its own unit of measure, and delivery is a line on the same invoice.
Carpet Cleaning Accounting Software in Jordan puts on one invoice what the customer gets back: the carpet washed by the metre, the sofa washed by the seat, and both delivered to their home. In Amman, Irbid or Zarqa, the homeowner pays the driver at handover. In Qoyod, set up carpet washing, sofa washing and delivery as services with their prices and units, issue the sales invoice, then record what the driver collected with a receipt into the cash box.
1. A carpet cleaning business in Jordan: where do the numbers scatter?
Before you choose accounting software for a carpet cleaning business in Jordan, follow one carpet from the customer’s door to your plant and back again: a price agreed aloud per metre, a delivery fee the driver takes in cash, a hotel or an office that settles at month end, and washing supplies whose cost shows up nowhere.
Prices in the receiver’s head
You price carpets by the metre, sofas by the seat and mattresses by the piece, and each price lives in the memory of whoever takes the order, who then writes the total on a slip of paper.
With Qoyod: make each kind of wash a service with a unit of measure that suits it: square metre for carpets, seat for sofas and piece for mattresses.
A delivery fee with no invoice
The driver takes the delivery fee from the homeowner in cash, and it never reaches the books unless someone writes it down in the evening.
With Qoyod: make delivery a priced service and put it as a line on the carpet invoice itself.
Money in the driver’s pocket
The homeowner pays at handover, and the amount stays with the driver until he returns to the plant.
With Qoyod: record what he collected as a receipt in the cash box, and the invoice shows as paid.
A hotel account left open
A hotel or an office sends its carpets throughout the month and asks for a statement of what it owes before it pays.
With Qoyod: record its orders as credit sales invoices in its name, and its balance appears in the customer statement.
2. A carpet from a house in Amman to its door
A homeowner in Amman sends three carpets and a three-seat sofa for washing, and a hotel leaves its carpets with you on account. Follow both orders in five stops; each stop writes a line on the journey card.
Stop 1: You put a price on each wash
Make carpet washing a service measured in square metres, sofa washing a service measured in seats, and delivery a service with a set price.
Stop 2: The homeowner’s carpets arrive
Enter on the sales invoice 24 metres of carpet washing, 3 seats of sofa washing and the delivery line, and Qoyod works out the total from the quantity and the unit price.
Stop 3: The homeowner pays at handover
Create a receipt for the invoice in the cash box for what the driver collected, and the invoice shows as paid.
Stop 4: A hotel on account
Issue the hotel a credit sales invoice for 120 metres of carpet washing, and it stays on its account until it pays.
Stop 5: The hotel pays part
Record what the hotel transfers as a receipt for its invoice in the bank account, in full or in part, and what is left shows in the customer statement.
3. Carpet Cleaning Accounting Software in Jordan: six tasks from collection to payment
Electronic invoicing and integrated accounting in one system. These are six more tasks Qoyod covers in a carpet cleaning business, from the price per metre to the hotel’s account.
The price per metre and the price per seat
Make carpet washing, sofa washing and mattress washing products of the “Service” type: they are not stored and are only sold, and each has a selling price, a revenue account, a unit of measure and a tax. When you add a unit of measure you set its type, and area is one of the types, so you create “square metre” for carpet washing and “seat” for sofa washing. Then you enter the number of units on the invoice line and Qoyod works out the total from the quantity and the unit price. Settle the unit before the first invoice, because it cannot be changed once the item has been used on an invoice.
Delivery among the invoice lines
Create delivery as a service with its price and add it with Add more as a line on the carpet invoice, so the fee shows on it and is posted to the service’s revenue account. You can add a discount on any line as a percentage or an amount, within the maximum discount percentage set for each user, and change the unit price on the line if you agree another figure with the customer.
Money that arrives at the door
When the customer pays the driver at handover, open the invoice and press Pay against the invoice, then create a receipt and set the collection account: the cash box for what was collected in cash, and the bank account for what the customer transferred, so the invoice shows as paid. The payment method field on the invoice is a description only, so it creates no receipt and moves no account.
A hotel’s or an office’s account
Issue the hotel or the office a credit sales invoice for its carpets, record what it pays with a receipt for the invoice, in full or in part, and follow its balance in the customer statement. If the customer does not accept the washing of one carpet, open the invoice, press Return invoice, choose that line and save the credit note. The customer ageing report compares balances between periods. Qoyod has no price lists per customer, so a price agreed with a particular hotel is typed on the invoice line. For the detail, read our explainer on collecting a credit sale invoice in JoFotara.
Shampoo and machines
Make shampoo and stain remover products of the “Expense” type: they are not stored and not sold, each has a purchase price and an expense account, and you record them on the supplier’s purchase invoice. Record your washing and drying machines as fixed assets that you buy with a purchase invoice, and follow their depreciation and book value, depending on your subscription.
How many metres per customer
In the sales and purchases summary report you see the quantity sold of each service and its average selling price, and you can filter it by one customer to learn how many square metres you sold a particular hotel in the period. When a hotel asks the price of 40 carpets, issue it a quotation with an expiry date and turn it into a sales invoice once the hotel approves it.

7. Frequently asked questions
Do carpet cleaning businesses have to issue invoices through the National Invoicing System (JoFotara)?
The e-invoicing mandate covers every seller of goods or provider of services, not only those registered for General Sales Tax, except for activities that the Invoicing Affairs Instructions exempt under set conditions. A seller that is not registered issues an income invoice. Mandatory application has been in force since 1 April 2025, with oversight steadily tightening. Other sectors were added to the list in Article (4) of the Invoicing Affairs Instructions by later amendments, so it is not a closed list. Check the text in force for your activity with the Income and Sales Tax Department.
More detail in our guide to the JoFotara exemption
If a business is not required to issue invoices, does that mean it pays no sales tax?
Not by itself. An exemption from the provisions of the Invoicing Regulation, where one applies, does not on its own exempt anyone from General Sales Tax or income tax, each of which has its own law. Check your tax position with your accountant.
How do I record what the customer pays the driver at handover?
Open the sales invoice and press Pay against the invoice, then choose to create a new receipt and set the collection account: the cash box for what the driver collected in cash, and the bank account for what the customer transferred. Enter the amount, in full or in part, and save, and the invoice shows as paid or partially paid. The payment method field on the invoice is a description only and creates no receipt.

How do I price carpets by the metre and sofas by the seat?
Make each kind of wash a product of the “Service” type under Products and costs, and choose a unit of measure for it. If the unit you need is missing, press the + sign beside the field and add it with its name, its display form and its type; area has a type of its own. A service’s unit cannot change once it has been used on an invoice, so if you price the same wash per metre sometimes and per piece at other times, make it two services.
How do I deal with a hotel that sends its carpets and settles at month end?
Record each order as a credit sales invoice in its name, then record what it settles with a receipt for its invoices, in full or in part, and follow its balance in the customer statement and in the customer ageing report between periods. Qoyod does not support price lists per customer, so another agreed price is changed on the invoice line, or you define a separate service for it with its own price.
Does Qoyod organise carpet collection and delivery and track each piece?
Qoyod is accounting software, and this page covers sales invoices, receipts, credit notes, customer balances and purchases, plus fixed assets depending on your subscription. Scheduling collection and delivery and tracking each carpet are not shown here.
So a carpet cleaner’s accounts come together in one place: washing and delivery on one invoice, cash in the cash box, and a statement for every hotel.
