Bought in the morning, sold in the evening.
Purchase invoices from your suppliers and sales invoices to your customers, in one set of books, once you record them in Qoyod.
Accounting Software for Restaurants in Jordan starts from two sets of invoices: what you bought for your kitchen from your suppliers, and what you sold to your customers. In a restaurant, from Amman to Irbid, ingredients reach the kitchen by the carton, and meals leave for cash or on credit to a company ordering for its staff. Record the purchase invoices from your suppliers in Qoyod, issue cash and credit sales invoices, and follow what is left for each supplier and what each customer still owes.
1. A day in a restaurant
Before you choose accounting software for a restaurant, look at where the numbers of your day live: the supplier’s invoice, the quantity in store, what you sold and what you collected.
A supplier invoice with no balance
A supplier’s invoice arrives, the restaurant pays part of it, and the rest sits on a sheet in a drawer.
With Qoyod: record purchase invoices from your suppliers, and follow each supplier’s balance and what you have paid.
It arrives by the carton and is counted by the litre
Oil arrives by the carton and the kitchen counts it by the litre, so the balance gets lost between two units.
With Qoyod: set a unit conversion for the item, and Qoyod counts the stock in its base unit.
A company orders for its staff
A company orders meals for its staff and pays later, and what it owes is spread over loose papers.
With Qoyod: record credit sales to your customers, and follow their balances in the customer statement and the ageing report.
Cash and bank in one day
Cash comes in and another part of the sales reaches the bank account, and the numbers blur on the day’s papers.
With Qoyod: add your cash and bank accounts, and record receipts and payments against them.
2. A day’s journey through your restaurant
One day, five stops, one new number on its card at each.
Stop 1: The supplier’s invoice
Record what you bought for your kitchen as a purchase invoice in the supplier’s name, and what you have not paid of it stays in their balance.
Stop 2: The item and its unit
Add the ingredient as a product with its code and purchase price, and set a unit conversion, so Qoyod counts the stock in the base unit and uses average cost.
Stop 3: The sales invoice
Issue cash and credit sales invoices, and follow what you have collected and what your customers still owe.
Stop 4: Cash and bank
Record what you collected and what you paid on your cash and bank accounts.
Stop 5: What the books say
View the income statement, balance sheet, trial balance and general ledger.
3. Accounting Software for Restaurants in Jordan: what Qoyod covers in your restaurant
Electronic invoicing and integrated accounting in one system. And here are six more jobs Qoyod covers in your restaurant.
Kitchen ingredients as items
Add each item to Qoyod as a product with its code, purchase price and selling price, and follow its balance and movements in every location.
The carton and the base unit
Pick the unit of measure from the list (such as piece, carton, kilo or litre) or add a new unit, and note that the unit cannot change once the product is used in invoices or stock.
Average cost
Qoyod works out an item’s cost as an average cost from purchase invoices, opening balances and stocktakes, and shows it on the products and costs page.
Suppliers
Record purchase invoices from your suppliers, follow each supplier’s balance, and review their transactions in the supplier statement.
Stocktake
Record a periodic stocktake of your stock, and compare the quantity in the books with the actual quantity.
The customer’s account on credit
Record credit invoices on the customer’s account, and review their balance in the customer statement and the customer ageing report. More in our guide to collecting a credit sale invoice in JoFotara.

Who must use e-invoicing in Jordan
Whether your restaurant is exempt from the invoicing mandate or required to issue invoices, Qoyod helps you keep the books for your purchases, stock and cash, and it is integrated with the National Invoicing System (JoFotara) for when you need it.
5. Your accountant shares the decision
If an accountant or an accounting firm works with your restaurant, hear their view before you decide on accounting software. The question “is my activity exempt from the invoicing mandate?” is for your accountant and the Department, and the books are for Qoyod.

7. Frequently asked questions
Does a restaurant have to issue invoices through the National Invoicing System (JoFotara)?
The e-invoicing mandate covers every seller of goods or provider of services, not only those registered for General Sales Tax, except for activities that the Invoicing Affairs Instructions exempt under set conditions. A seller that is not registered issues an income invoice. Mandatory application has been in force since 1 April 2025, with oversight steadily tightening. Other sectors were added to the list in Article (4) of the Invoicing Affairs Instructions by later amendments, so it is not a closed list. Check the text in force for your activity with the Income and Sales Tax Department.
More detail in our guide to the JoFotara exemption
If a business is not required to issue invoices, does that mean it pays no sales tax?
Not by itself. An exemption from the provisions of the Invoicing Regulation, where one applies, does not on its own exempt anyone from General Sales Tax or income tax, each of which has its own law. Check your tax position with your accountant.
How do I follow my kitchen ingredients and their cost in Qoyod?
You add each ingredient as a product and pick its unit of measure from the list (such as piece, carton, kilo or litre) or add a new unit. When you buy in one unit and count in another, you set a unit conversion and Qoyod counts the stock in the base unit. Qoyod uses the average cost method, and shows the cost on the products and costs page and in the reports, not inside the purchase or sales invoice.
Does Qoyod track expiry dates or batch numbers?
No. Qoyod does not track batch numbers or expiry dates, so you read the expiry from the packaging. Qoyod uses the average cost method only, and the first in, first out method is not currently available. A periodic stocktake does show you the difference between the quantity in the books and the actual quantity.
Can I record an advance from a customer before I issue their invoice?
Yes. Record the payment as a standalone receipt with no invoice, and it stays unused until you allocate it to a later invoice.

Does Qoyod manage the menu, tables, delivery orders and dish recipes?
Qoyod is accounting software, and what we show on this page is invoices, balances, purchases, stock and reports. The menu, tables, the kitchen screen, delivery apps, dish recipes, tips and service charges are not something we show here, so ask sales what fits your restaurant.
That completes the day: an invoice from your suppliers, an invoice to your customers, and what is left on each side.
