What you quoted the client, and what you bought for the job.
The quote, the advance payment and the supplier purchases in one project on Qoyod, once you record them against it.
Accounting software for interior design firms in Jordan starts with one question: how much of this project is left for your firm after its purchases? In an interior design firm that works on several projects at once, one client’s project is split between its quote, its advance payment, its purchase orders and the invoices of the suppliers you buy from for it. Add each project to Qoyod, issue its quote, then link its purchases and invoices to it.
1. Where do the numbers of a client project get scattered?
Before you choose accounting software for an interior design firm, look at where one client’s project is spread today: the quote, the advance payment slip and the supplier invoices.
A quote in a message, an invoice in a file
The client approved the quote, so you retype its items into an invoice.
With Qoyod: save the quote as “Approved”, then convert it to a sales invoice with the “Convert to invoice” option.
An advance payment before the work starts
The client paid part of the project value up front and no invoice exists yet, so the payment is noted on a slip of paper.
With Qoyod: create a receipt voucher with no invoice, and it shows as “Unused” until you allocate it to an invoice.
Many suppliers for one project
Furniture from one supplier, lighting from another, flooring from a third, each invoice in its own file.
With Qoyod: issue each supplier a purchase order, convert it to a purchase invoice, and record it on the project in the “Additional information” tab.
How much did this project earn?
You will not know the number until you have collected every file of the project.
With Qoyod: from the income statement choose Advanced Analysis, then filter on the project you want.
2. A client project’s journey through your firm
A client’s project goes through five stops in your books, and its numbers gather on its card one stop after another.
Stop 1: The client approves the quote
Issue a quote with its items and prices, send it to the client, and save it as “Approved” once it is accepted. Then add the project in Tasks and Projects.
Stop 2: Its advance payment arrives
If the client hands over part of the value before the invoice, create a stand-alone receipt voucher; it stays “Unused” until you allocate it to an invoice.
Stop 3: You buy for it from suppliers
Issue each supplier a purchase order, convert it to a purchase invoice on receipt, then link the invoice to the project in the “Additional information” tab.
Stop 4: The client is invoiced
Convert the approved quote to a sales invoice, link it to the project, then allocate the advance payment to it.
Stop 5: Its result shows
Show the income statement from Advanced Analysis after filtering by the project, and its result appears with everything you recorded against it.
3. Accounting Software for Interior Design Firms in Jordan: what Qoyod covers in your firm
E-invoicing and accounting, integrated in one system. Here are six jobs Qoyod covers in your firm, for your quotes and purchases.
A project for each client
Open a project for each client and filter sales invoices, purchase invoices, quotations and purchase orders by it, so what belongs to that client stays in front of you. Make a project private so only the users you choose can see it.
A quote with the items you set
Issue a quote with its items, prices, expiry date and your notes, attach the files you need, save it as a draft or “Approved”, then send it to the client or save it as a PDF. And choose the quote’s language: Arabic, English or both.
An advance payment before the invoice
Add the client’s advance payment as a voucher with no invoice, and allocate it whenever you like to any later invoice. You can link the voucher to its project from “Additional information”.
Purchase orders and supplier invoices
Issue each supplier a purchase order with the agreed quantities and prices, convert it to a purchase invoice on receipt, and change the quantity if what arrived differs from what you ordered. A purchase order leaves no accounting trace before it is converted. And follow each supplier’s balance in the supplier statement.
The result of each project
Show the income statement or the balance sheet for one project by filtering, and compare your projects or two periods from Advanced Analysis. One project’s purchases are in the account statement report, filtered by the project.
Ready-made reports
Ready-made reports by name: income statement, balance sheet, trial balance and the ageing report, all of which can be exported to Excel and PDF.
4. Interior design firms and the National Invoicing System
Discuss your firm’s position with your accountant.
Who must use e-invoicing in Jordan
Whether your firm is exempt from the invoicing mandate or required to issue invoices, Qoyod keeps the books for your projects, purchases and cash, and it is integrated with the National Invoicing System (JoFotara) for when you need it.
5. What you see and what your accountant reviews
If you work with an accountant or an accounting office, they may take part in choosing the software. The question “is my activity exempt from invoicing?” is for your accountant and the Department, and your books belong in Qoyod.

7. Frequently asked questions
Does an interior design firm have to issue invoices through the National Invoicing System (JoFotara)?
The e-invoicing mandate covers every seller of goods or provider of services, not only those registered for General Sales Tax, except for activities that the Invoicing Affairs Instructions exempt under set conditions. A seller that is not registered issues an income invoice. Mandatory application has been in force since 1 April 2025, with oversight steadily tightening. Sectors were added to the list in Article (4) of the Invoicing Affairs Instructions by later amendments, so it is not a closed list. Check the text in force for your activity with the Income and Sales Tax Department.
More detail in our guide to the JoFotara exemption
If a business is not required to issue invoices, does that mean it pays no sales tax?
Not by itself. An exemption from the provisions of the Invoicing Regulation, where one applies, does not on its own exempt anyone from General Sales Tax or income tax, each of which has its own law. Check your tax position with your accountant.
Can I record a client’s payment before I convert the quote to an invoice?
Yes. Create it as a stand-alone receipt voucher with no invoice; it shows as “Unused” until you allocate it, and you can allocate it to any invoice issued later. A voucher cannot be edited once saved, so check its details before saving.
Does a quote affect my accounts before the client accepts it?
No. A quote does not affect stock, and the accounts are not affected by it until you convert it to an invoice. If you cancel it before it is invoiced, it stays in the list with the status “Cancelled”. The “Convert to invoice” option is available for an approved quote only.
Can I send a client a quote in English?
Yes. In Settings, open General Settings, then Quotation Settings, and press “Try the new designer”. Then choose the quote’s language: Arabic, English or both. The designer also lets you pick a ready-made template or start from scratch, and control the logo, the title, the additional fields and the text colours.
Are Projects and purchase orders available in my plan?
Ask sales whether they are available in your plan. If you see an “upgrade your plan” message when you open Tasks and Projects, or the “Purchase orders” option does not appear in the menu, it means the feature is not available in your current plan.
That brings your client’s project together: its quote, its advance payment, its purchases and its result. That answers the first question.
