One piece. Every balance around it.
Whether your shop is exempt from the invoicing mandate today or required to issue invoices, each valuable piece sets off three movements in your books: a supplier, a deposit and an invoice.
Accounting Software for Gold and Jewellery Shops in Jordan starts with the valuable piece: what you still owe the supplier, what a customer paid you as a deposit, and what the customer still owes. In a gold shop, from Amman to Zarqa, one piece passes through a goldsmith or wholesaler and a customer, and each has a balance. Record the purchase invoice, the customer’s deposit and the sales invoice in Qoyod, and their balances come together in one set of books.
1. A day in a gold and jewellery shop
Before you choose accounting software for a gold shop in Jordan, look at where one piece’s numbers live today: the goldsmith’s invoice, the deposit slip and the price card in the window.
A piece with a buying price and a selling price
You buy the piece from a goldsmith or wholesaler, its buying price is on one sheet and its selling price is in your head.
With Qoyod: the item carries its code, its purchase price and its default selling price, and you adjust the price on the invoice when you sell.
A deposit on a piece
A customer pays a deposit on a piece and collects it days later, so the money sits in your books with no invoice.
With Qoyod: record the deposit as a receipt voucher from the customer before the invoice, then allocate it to the invoice at delivery.
How much is left for the goldsmith?
You buy from more than one goldsmith and wholesaler, and you pay each of them in parts.
With Qoyod: find each supplier’s balance, and what you have settled, in one place.
A piece comes back or is swapped for another
A customer returns a piece or swaps it for another, and your books need a record of it.
With Qoyod: a credit note puts the piece back in stock, and a new invoice covers the replacement.
2. A piece’s journey through your shop
One piece, five stops, one new number on the journey card at each.
Stop 1: In from the supplier
Your piece arrives with two others on one purchase invoice that you record under the supplier, goldsmith or wholesaler. You paid part of it, so the rest stays on the supplier’s balance.
Stop 2: Open an item for it
Create an item for the piece with its code, and enter its purchase price and its default selling price.
Stop 3: A barcode on the piece
Enter the item’s barcode or generate one, and print it from the product page.
Stop 4: A deposit from the customer
Record the deposit as a receipt voucher from the customer before the invoice, then allocate it to the invoice at delivery.
Stop 5: Sold on an invoice
Issue cash or credit sales invoices from Qoyod, and review what you have collected and what your customers still owe.

7. Frequently asked questions
Does a gold or jewellery shop have to issue invoices through the National Invoicing System (JoFotara)?
The e-invoicing mandate covers every seller of goods or provider of services, not only those registered for General Sales Tax, except for activities that the Invoicing Affairs Instructions exempt under set conditions. A seller that is not registered issues an income invoice. Mandatory application has been in force since 1 April 2025, with oversight steadily tightening. Other sectors were added to the list in Article (4) of the Invoicing Affairs Instructions by later amendments, so it is not a closed list. Check the text in force for your activity with the Income and Sales Tax Department.

If a business is not required to issue invoices, does that mean it pays no sales tax?
Not by itself. An exemption from the provisions of the Invoicing Regulation, where one applies, does not on its own exempt anyone from General Sales Tax or income tax, each of which has its own law. Check your tax position with your accountant.
Does Qoyod price gold by the gram, by karat or by the daily price?
What this page shows for pricing is a purchase price and a default selling price on the item, and you adjust the selling price on the invoice when you sell, so reports follow the actual price on the invoice. Grams, karat and the daily gold price are not shown here, so ask sales what suits your shop.
How do I record a customer’s deposit on a piece?
Record the deposit as a receipt voucher from the customer before the invoice, then allocate it to the invoice at delivery. What you pay a supplier before the purchase invoice is recorded as an advance on a standalone voucher, which you allocate to the purchase invoice later.
How do I record a piece that a customer returns or swaps for another?
Issue a credit note to take back the piece: the quantity returns to stock and the customer’s balance goes down. To exchange it, issue a new invoice for the replacement item.

Does Qoyod cover buying old gold from customers?
This page does not show buying old gold from customers or swapping it for a new piece, so ask sales what suits your shop. What it does show for a piece that was sold is the credit note for a return and a new invoice for an exchange.
That completes what is owed on, and by, one piece: its supplier, its purchase price, its deposit and its invoice.
