Fees you agreed, and the expenses you incurred on them.
The fee, the advance payment and the expenses in one project on Qoyod, once you record them against it.
Accounting software for consulting firms in Jordan starts with one question: how much of this fee is left for your firm after its expenses? In a consulting firm that serves several clients at once, one client’s agreement is split between its contract, its advance payment, the invoices of the external experts you bring in and the travel costs. Add each agreement to Qoyod as a project, record its contract details in it, then link its expenses and invoices to it.
1. Where do the numbers of a client agreement get scattered?
Before you choose accounting software for a consulting firm, look at where one client’s agreement is spread today: the fee contract, the advance payment slip and the expense invoices.
A fee in a contract, invoices in a file
The agreed fee is written in the contract, and its invoices are kept in another file.
With Qoyod: record the contract number, its start and end dates and its value in the project, and attach a copy.
An advance payment before the invoice exists
The client paid part of the fee and its invoice has not been issued yet, so the payment sits on a slip of paper.
With Qoyod: record it as a stand-alone receipt voucher, and it shows as “Unused” until you allocate it to an invoice.
A client’s expenses in scattered files
Travel, an external expert and your team’s cost, each in a different file.
With Qoyod: record each expense against the project from a purchase invoice, a simple invoice or a manual journal entry, in the “Additional information” tab.
How much of the fee is left?
The answer only shows once you have gathered every paper.
With Qoyod: open the income statement, choose Advanced Analysis and select the project.
2. An agreement’s journey through your firm
One agreement with a client passes five stops in your books, and its numbers appear on its card one stop after another.
Stop 1: The project opens with its agreement
Add the project in Tasks and Projects, write its contract number, start and end dates and value in it, and attach a copy of the contract.
Stop 2: Its advance payment arrives
If the client pays part of the fee before the invoice, record the payment as a stand-alone receipt voucher, which stays “Unused” until you allocate it to an invoice.
Stop 3: Its expenses are recorded
Record the project’s expenses against it: travel by a simple invoice, the external expert by a purchase invoice, and your team’s cost by a manual journal entry.
Stop 4: The client is invoiced
Issue your client a sales invoice for the amount you set, link it to the project, then allocate the advance payment to it.
Stop 5: Its result shows
The project’s result shows in the income statement, filtered by project from Advanced Analysis, and it includes what you recorded against the project.
3. Accounting Software for Consulting Firms in Jordan: what Qoyod covers in your firm
E-invoicing and accounting, integrated in one system. Here are six more jobs Qoyod covers in your firm, for your fees and expenses.
A project for each agreement
Create a project for each client agreement, and browse its sales invoices, purchase invoices, quotations and purchase orders by filtering on the project. Make a project private so only the users you choose can see it.
An advance payment before the invoice
Record the client’s advance payment as a receipt voucher with no invoice, and allocate it later to any invoice. You can link the voucher to the project from “Additional information”.
The agreement’s expenses
Record an expense against the project from a purchase invoice, a simple invoice or a manual journal entry, and pull one project’s purchases from the account statement report by filtering on the project.
Your fee invoices
Issue sales invoices for the amount you set, record credit sales, and follow client balances from the customer statement and the ageing report.
The result of each project
Open the income statement or the balance sheet filtered to one project, and compare your projects with each other or one period with another, from Advanced Analysis.
Ready-made reports
Income statement, balance sheet, trial balance and the ageing report, with export of these reports to Excel and PDF.

7. Frequently asked questions
Does a consulting firm have to issue invoices through the National Invoicing System (JoFotara)?
The e-invoicing mandate covers every seller of goods or provider of services, not only those registered for General Sales Tax, except for activities that the Invoicing Affairs Instructions exempt under set conditions. A seller that is not registered issues an income invoice. Mandatory application has been in force since 1 April 2025, with oversight steadily tightening. Sectors were added to the list in Article (4) of the Invoicing Affairs Instructions by later amendments, so it is not a closed list. Check the text in force for your activity with the Income and Sales Tax Department.
More detail in our guide to the JoFotara exemption
If a business is not required to issue invoices, does that mean it pays no sales tax?
Not by itself. An exemption from the provisions of the Invoicing Regulation, where one applies, does not on its own exempt anyone from General Sales Tax or income tax, each of which has its own law. Check your tax position with your accountant.
Can I record a client’s advance payment before I issue the invoice?
Yes. Record it as a stand-alone receipt voucher with no invoice, and it shows as “Unused” until you allocate it to an invoice, which can be any later invoice. A voucher cannot be edited once saved, so check its details before saving.
Does Qoyod have contract management?
No. Qoyod has no direct feature for adding contracts. What you can do is use a project instead: write the contract number, its start and end dates, its value and its details in the project, and link your invoices and expenses to it.
Does the project name print on the sales invoice?
Not automatically, and the invoice designer has no ready-made “Project” field. What you can do: in Settings, open Additional Fields and add a text field named “Project name” for sales invoices and quotations, fill it in under “Additional information” when you create the invoice, then add the field in the invoice designer so it prints and exports. Or write the project name in the notes or description. Linking the invoice to the project under “Additional information” is still needed for it to appear in the by-project reports.
Is the Projects feature available in my plan?
Ask sales whether it is available in your plan. If you see an “upgrade your plan” message when you open Tasks and Projects, it means the feature is not available in your current plan.
That brings your agreement with the client together: its fee, its advance payment, its expenses and its result. That answers the first question.
