Accounting Software for Insurance Brokers in Jordan

What each insurer owes you, in one statement.

Your commission invoices, their receipts and the balance on each insurer’s account, once you record them in Qoyod.

Accounting software for insurance brokers in Jordan starts with one question: how much does this insurer still owe your office? A brokerage deals with several insurers in the same month, and one payment from an insurer may cover more than one invoice. Add each insurer to Qoyod as a customer, issue it your commission invoice, allocate its payment to its invoices, then read its account statement.

1. Where do the numbers of your commission get lost?

Before you choose accounting software for a brokerage, look at where one insurer’s numbers are spread today: the invoices for its commission, its payments and its statement.

Each insurer’s commission in its own file

Your commission from each insurer is written in one file, and its invoices sit in another.

With Qoyod: add the insurer as a customer, and issue it an invoice with a service line you name “Brokerage commission”, for the amount you set.

One payment for many invoices

A payment arrives from the insurer, and you do not know which invoices it settled.

With Qoyod: record a receipt voucher and allocate it to one invoice or more from the same insurer.

What is still owed at one particular insurer

What each insurer still owes only shows after you collect the invoices and the payments.

With Qoyod: open the insurer’s account statement and the customer ageing report.

Office expenses on scattered papers

The office rent, marketing and the invoices of those you work with, each on its own paper.

With Qoyod: record each expense from a purchase invoice, a simple invoice or a manual journal entry, then open the income statement.

2. An insurer’s journey through your books

One insurer passes five stops in your books, and its numbers appear on its card one stop after another.

Stop 1: The insurer is added as a customer

Add it from Sales, then Customers, write its name and reference number, and add its tax number if it is a commercial entity.

Stop 2: Its commission invoices are issued

Issue it a sales invoice with a service line you name “Brokerage commission”, for the amount you set, and you can issue it more than one invoice.

Stop 3: Its payment arrives and you allocate it

Record the payment as a receipt voucher and allocate it to one invoice or more from the same insurer. Once its whole value is allocated, the voucher shows as “Used”.

Stop 4: Its account statement shows

Open the Account Statement, choose the Receivables account and the filter type Customers, then the insurer, to read its invoices, vouchers and balance.

Stop 5: What is left at the insurer shows

Open the customer ageing report to see what the insurer still owes, compared with earlier periods.

3. Accounting Software for Insurance Brokers in Jordan: what Qoyod covers in your office

E-invoicing and accounting, integrated in one system. Here are six more jobs Qoyod covers in your office, for your commission and your expenses.

The insurer is a customer

Add each insurer as a customer with its reference number and name, add its establishment details and tax number if it is a commercial entity, and set its status to “Inactive” if you stop dealing with it.

Your commission invoice

In Products and Costs, create a service that you name “Brokerage commission”, link it to its revenue account, then edit its price on the invoice line for the amount you set. A service is not stored.

One voucher for several invoices

Record the insurer’s payment as a receipt voucher and spread it over several of its invoices, with the amount you choose for each one. Whatever you do not allocate stays available for its other invoices.

Each insurer’s account statement

Open the Account Statement from Reports, choose the Receivables account and the filter type Customers, then the insurer. It shows the date, the operation type, the reference, the debit, the credit and the balance.

What is still owed at each insurer

The customer ageing report shows what each customer still owes, compared across weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly periods.

Your office expenses and its result

Record your office expenses from a purchase invoice, a simple invoice or a manual journal entry, follow each supplier’s balance and what you paid, then open the income statement to see your office results.

7. Frequently asked questions

Does a brokerage have to issue invoices through the National Invoicing System (JoFotara)?

The e-invoicing mandate covers every seller of goods or provider of services, not only those registered for General Sales Tax, except for activities that the Invoicing Affairs Instructions exempt under set conditions. A seller that is not registered issues an income invoice. Mandatory application has been in force since 1 April 2025, with oversight steadily tightening. More detail in our guide to the JoFotara exemption

If a business is not required to issue invoices, does that mean it pays no sales tax?

Not by itself. An exemption from the provisions of the Invoicing Regulation, where one applies, does not on its own exempt anyone from General Sales Tax or income tax, each of which has its own law. Check your tax position with your accountant.

How do I record my commission from an insurer in Qoyod?

Add the insurer as a customer, and create in Products and Costs a service with the name you choose, such as “Brokerage commission”. Then issue it a sales invoice for the amount you set. If you have not collected the amount yet, record the sale on credit, and follow the insurer’s balance from its account statement.

Can one payment from an insurer settle several invoices?

Yes. Create a receipt voucher for it from Sales, then Customer Receipts, for the total amount, choose its approved invoices, enter the amount for each invoice, then save. If the voucher is smaller than their total, allocate it partially by priority, and the other invoices stay “Approved” until you allocate another voucher to them. Check the voucher’s details before saving.

How do I see what is still owed at an insurer?

Open the insurer’s account statement to see its movement and balance, or the customer ageing report to see what it still owes, compared with earlier periods, weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly.

Does Qoyod calculate my commission automatically?

No. Qoyod does not calculate commission automatically, so you type the amount of your commission on the sales invoice line yourself. Qoyod has no price list for each insurer, so you edit the price on the invoice line.

That brings your commission at each insurer together: its invoices, its payments and its account statement. That answers the first question.
