The order by its quotation, the material by its stock, the advance by its receipt.
Whether your workshop is exempt from the invoicing mandate today or required to issue invoices, you convert a quotation to an invoice, you follow your materials, and you record your customers’ advances in Qoyod.
Furniture workshop accounting software in Jordan starts with a single order: a quotation the customer agrees to, an advance paid before the invoice, materials you buy and use, and installation and delivery added as two lines. In a carpentry workshop in Amman, Zarqa or Irbid you build wardrobes, kitchens and bedrooms to measure, and you buy wood and fittings from more than one supplier. Issue the quotation and convert it to an invoice, record the customer’s advance on a receipt, and check what remains on their account.
1. Where does a carpentry workshop’s money scatter?
Before you choose software for your workshop in Jordan, look at where its numbers live today: the price of each order, each customer’s advance, each purchase of material, and the installation of each piece.
An order’s price on a sheet of paper
The carpenter and the customer agree a price by word of mouth or on paper, and the order changes on the way.
With Qoyod: fix the items, the services and the price in a quotation, and convert it to an invoice with its details.
A deposit nobody can place
The customer pays a deposit so work can start, and the amount blends in with everything else received.
With Qoyod: record it as an advance payment on its own receipt, and it shows “Unused” until you allocate it to the invoice.
Boards and hinges with no balance
The workshop takes in boards, veneer and hinges from several suppliers, and they leave with no clear account.
With Qoyod: buy them on a purchase invoice, and review each item’s balance and its cost by the average method.
Installation and delivery without a line
You install the cabinet and deliver it, and the invoice shows it only as an estimate.
With Qoyod: define installation and delivery as two services, and add them as lines at a price you can change on the invoice.
2. One carpentry order in your books: from the quotation to what the customer still owes
Five stops for one order, and one new line on the numbers card at each.
Stop 1: You issue a quotation for the order
Add the items and the installation and delivery services at the agreed prices, and set the date the quotation expires.
Stop 2: You record the advance
Record what the customer paid on a standalone receipt with no invoice, and it stays “Unused” until you allocate it.
Stop 3: You convert the quotation to an invoice
Press “Convert to invoice”, and the details move to an invoice you can edit before saving, the quotation status becomes “Invoiced”, and the quantities leave stock when the invoice is made.
Stop 4: You print the delivery note
Print the delivery note from the invoice once it is approved, because it is what proves the goods were handed to the customer.
Stop 5: You allocate the advance and follow the balance
Allocate the receipt to the invoice, and what remains due shows, then check the customer’s statement.
3. Furniture Workshop Accounting Software in Jordan: what Qoyod covers in your workshop
Electronic invoicing and integrated accounting in one system. And here are six jobs Qoyod covers in your workshop, from the quotation to the workshop’s machines.
The quotation, then the invoice
Issue the customer a quotation with the items, the services, its expiry date and your notes, then press “Convert to invoice”: the details move to an invoice you can edit before saving, and the quotation status becomes “Invoiced”. A quotation does not affect stock, so quantities leave stock when it becomes an invoice.
Qoyod does not invoice one quotation into several invoices directly, so you add the part you want to invoice as a sales invoice by hand. It does not support a price list for each customer, so you write the agreed price on the quotation or invoice line. Quotations are available according to your subscription, so ask sales what fits your workshop.
The advance and credit sales
Record the advance on a standalone receipt in the customer’s name, with no invoice, and it stays “Unused” until you allocate it to an invoice later. A saved receipt cannot be edited, so check its details before you save. One receipt can be allocated to an invoice or to several invoices, and the details are in our guide to receipt vouchers and invoices in Jordan.
For credit sales, open the customer’s statement and review the customer ageing report, which compares what has not been paid across weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly periods and does not split it into day buckets. Qoyod does not offer setting a credit limit for a customer, and scheduling payments is not shown on this page.
Wood and fittings in stock
Buy wood, veneer and hinges on a purchase invoice in the supplier’s name, and the balances of stocked items go up. Qoyod works out an item’s cost by the average method only, and first in, first out is not available. The product locations report shows each item’s quantity in each location, and Stock count records what is missing or damaged, with a cost account you choose for the shortfall.
If you buy a board and issue it by the square metre, add a second unit to the item in “Unit conversion”, with a fixed relation to its base unit, and enter each unit’s purchase and selling price yourself. Unit conversion is available according to your subscription.
A repeated piece as a composite product
If your workshop repeats a piece to one measurement, define it as a composite product made of its materials with their quantities, then create a manufacturing order for the quantity. The value of the materials moves from stock to the temporary manufacturing account when you start the process, then to the product when you complete it, and Qoyod works out its average cost from its materials.
A raw material is a material that goes into manufacturing and is not sold to the customer as it is, such as wood. If it is stocked you must buy it, or enter it as an opening balance, before the manufacturing order, and if it is not stocked you use it in the order directly. Composite products, raw materials and manufacturing orders are available according to your subscription, so ask sales what fits your workshop.
Installation and delivery as services
Define each as a product of the type “service” with a unit of measure, a default selling price and a revenue account, and no purchase price, and add them as lines on the invoice at a price you can change there. A service is not stored, so it has no stock balance and no cost for Qoyod to work out.
After the invoice is approved, print the delivery note. Each invoice has one delivery note in a fixed format that cannot be edited, and services and non-stocked products show on it if you turn on the option to show them in the delivery note, in the sales invoice settings.
The workshop’s machines as fixed assets
Record the machines and equipment as fixed assets with their depreciation and book value. Qoyod posts depreciation at the level of the asset as an operating expense, and it does not spread it over the cost of each piece you make. Fixed assets are available according to your subscription.
Attendance, leave and payroll belong to a separate product, Qoyod HR, in section 6.
4. Furniture Workshops and the National Invoicing System
Discuss your workshop’s position with your accountant.
Who must use e-invoicing in Jordan
Whether your workshop is exempt from the invoicing mandate or required to issue invoices, Qoyod keeps the books for your stock, purchases, assets and cash, and it is integrated with the National Invoicing System (JoFotara) for when you need it.
5. Your accountant shares the decision
If you work with an accountant or an accounting firm, their view on accounting software comes before your decision. The question “is my activity exempt from the invoicing mandate?” belongs with your accountant and the Department. The books belong in Qoyod.

7. Frequently asked questions
Does a furniture workshop have to issue invoices through the National Invoicing System (JoFotara)?
The e-invoicing mandate covers every seller of goods or provider of services, not only those registered for General Sales Tax, except for activities that the Invoicing Affairs Instructions exempt under set conditions. A seller that is not registered issues an income invoice. Mandatory application has been in force since 1 April 2025, with oversight steadily tightening. Other sectors were added to the list in Article (4) of the Invoicing Affairs Instructions by later amendments, so it is not a closed list. Check the text in force for your activity with the Income and Sales Tax Department.
More detail in our guide to the JoFotara exemption
If a business is not required to issue invoices, does that mean it pays no sales tax?
Not by itself. An exemption from the provisions of the Invoicing Regulation, where one applies, does not on its own exempt anyone from General Sales Tax or income tax, each of which has its own law. Check your tax position with your accountant.
How do I record the advance before the order is built?
Record it as an advance payment from the customer on a standalone receipt with no invoice, and it shows “Unused” until you allocate it to an invoice later. A receipt cannot be edited once it is added, so check its details before you save. When you issue the order’s invoice, allocate the receipt to it, and what remains due from the customer shows. A receipt can be allocated to more than one invoice, and you review what you have collected and what is left in the customer’s statement. Splitting payments into stages with percentages and dates is not shown on this page.
How do I follow wood and fittings in stock?
Create each material as a stocked item with a unit of measure and a default purchase price, and buy it on a purchase invoice so its balance goes up. Qoyod works out an item’s cost by the average method from purchase invoices, and first in, first out is not available. Whatever is missing or damaged, you record in Stock count: choose the location and enter the actual quantity, and Qoyod works out the difference and records it, and you choose the cost account for the shortfall. The serial number is a unique code for each item, not for each piece of it, and Qoyod does not track batch numbers. To follow one shipment of timber, add it as its own item with its code. Several dimensions and grades within one item, and reports by them, are not shown on this page.
Can I make a repeated cabinet a product in Qoyod?
Yes, through a composite product and a manufacturing order. Create a stocked composite product, add its materials as components with a quantity for each, then open Manufacturing orders and create an order for the quantity. The value of the materials moves from stock to the temporary manufacturing account, then to the product when you complete the process, and Qoyod works out its average cost from its materials. The stocked materials must cover the order’s quantity, or a shortage notice appears with its details, and Qoyod does not allow a negative balance. Composite products and manufacturing orders are available according to your subscription, so ask sales which subscription includes them. Working out cutting waste, the yield of a board and the carpenters’ hours for each piece is not shown on this page.
How do I follow material cost and one large order on its own in Qoyod?
Qoyod works out each item’s cost by the average method from purchase invoices, and the product cost and margin report shows it by item, category or location. Installation and delivery are services that are not stored and have no purchase price, so they carry no cost in that report. To follow one large order on its own, link the sales invoice and the material invoices to a project, then filter the documents by project, or choose the project in a financial report with the “Advanced analysis” option. Projects are available according to your subscription, so ask sales what fits your workshop. The cost of each piece, including the workers’ pay, is not shown on this page.
That brings the workshop’s accounts together in one place: its orders by their quotations, its materials by their stock, and its advances by their receipts.
