Accounting Software for Construction Companies in Jordan

One project. All its accounts.

Every project gets its contract, expenses, subcontractor and invoice, once you record them against it.

Accounting software for construction companies in Jordan starts with one question: what did this project really earn? In a contracting company that runs several projects at once, from Amman to Aqaba, one project’s numbers are scattered across its contract, its suppliers’ invoices and its subcontractors’ statements. Add each project to Qoyod, record the contract details in it, then link its expenses and invoices to it.

1. A day in a contracting company

Before you choose accounting software for a construction company, look at where a project’s numbers live today: the contract file, the suppliers’ invoices and the subcontractors’ statements.

Project expenses spread across files

Materials sit in one file and workers’ wages in another, so what the project really cost never shows.

With Qoyod: record each expense against the project from a purchase invoice, a simple invoice or a manual journal entry, in the “Additional information” tab.

Which contract, which project?

The contract is in one file, and its value and dates are on another sheet.

With Qoyod: the project carries the contract number, its dates and its value, and you can attach a copy.

What do you still owe the subcontractor?

Payments go to several subcontractors and suppliers, and each balance sits in that party’s own statement.

With Qoyod: record the subcontractor as a supplier, and see the balance and what you have paid in one place.

Materials going to more than one project

Materials leave the warehouse for more than one project, and the books do not know which project took what.

With Qoyod: add a “location” named after the project in Products and Costs, to assign its stock and operations to it.

Stop 1: The project opens with its contract

Add the project in Tasks and Projects and record the contract details in it: its number, start and end dates and value. Attach a copy of the contract.

Stop 2: Its materials and expenses are recorded

Record the project’s purchases and expenses against it, including workers’ wages as a manual journal entry, from the “Additional information” tab.

Stop 3: The subcontractor is settled

Record the subcontractor’s invoice as a purchase invoice on the project, so whatever you have not paid of it stays on the subcontractor’s balance.

Stop 4: The client is invoiced

Issue your client a sales invoice for the amount you set, link it to the project, and follow what you have collected and what remains.

Stop 5: Its result shows

The project’s result shows in the income statement, filtered by project from Advanced Analysis, and it includes what you recorded against the project.

Expenses on each project

Record an expense against the project from a purchase invoice, a simple invoice or a manual journal entry, and pull one project’s purchases from the account statement report by filtering on the project.

Project stock

Add a “location” named after the project in Products and Costs, to assign its operations and stock to it, and filter reports by location.

Subcontractors and suppliers

Record purchase invoices from suppliers and subcontractors, and follow each one’s balance and what you have paid.

The result of each project

View the income statement and balance sheet for one project, or compare projects or periods, with Advanced Analysis.

Your equipment across projects

Record machinery and equipment as fixed assets, and move an asset’s link from one project to another.

What the texts say
The mandate
The e-invoicing mandate covers every seller of goods or provider of services, not only those registered for General Sales Tax, except for activities that the Invoicing Affairs Instructions exempt under set conditions. A seller that is not registered issues an income invoice.
Since 1 April 2025
Mandatory application has been in force since 1 April 2025, with oversight steadily tightening.
Art. 4 · Instructions
Later amendments
Construction companies do not appear by name in the list in Article (4) of the Invoicing Affairs Instructions. Other sectors were added to the list by later amendments, so it is not a closed list. Check the text in force for your activity with the Income and Sales Tax Department.

7. Frequently asked questions

Does a construction company have to issue invoices through the National Invoicing System (JoFotara)?

The e-invoicing mandate covers every seller of goods or provider of services, not only those registered for General Sales Tax, except for activities that the Invoicing Affairs Instructions exempt under set conditions. A seller that is not registered issues an income invoice. Mandatory application has been in force since 1 April 2025, with oversight steadily tightening. More detail in our guide to the JoFotara exemption

If a business is not required to issue invoices, does that mean it pays no sales tax?

Not by itself. An exemption from the provisions of the Invoicing Regulation, where one applies, does not on its own exempt anyone from General Sales Tax or income tax, each of which has its own law. Check your tax position with your accountant.

Does Qoyod have contract management?

No. Qoyod has no direct feature for adding contracts. What you can do is use a project instead: record the contract number, its start and end dates, its value and its details in the project, and link your invoices and expenses to it.

How do I see each project’s result?

Link every expense and every sales invoice to the project, then open the income statement, choose Advanced Analysis and select the project. Its result shows what you recorded against it, and anything not linked to the project does not appear in it.

Is the Projects feature available in my plan?

Ask sales whether it is available in your plan. If you see an “upgrade your plan” message when you open Tasks and Projects, it means the feature is not available in your current plan.

Does the project name show on the printed invoice?

Not unless you add a field for it. The invoice designer has no ready field called “Project”, so add a text additional field named “Project name” for sales invoices in Settings, then show it in the invoice designer. Linking the invoice to the project from “Additional information” is still needed for it to appear in project reports.

That completes the project’s numbers: its contract, its expenses, its subcontractor, its invoice and its result. That answers the first question.
