Every car with its own code and cost, and invoices compatible with the National Invoicing System (JoFotara).
Your showroom may buy in dollars, sell in dinars, send every sale to JoFotara and still owe your accountant receipts at month end. That is why car dealer accounting software in Jordan, for car showrooms in Amman, Irbid and beyond, should start with the car itself. In Qoyod, each car is its own product with its own code, so you see its cost and margin and your accountant reviews the same numbers.
1. A day in your showroom: where invoices and numbers get stuck
In a car trading business, numbers sit between the showroom ledger, WhatsApp chats and the accountant’s month-end requests.
The accountant wants the paperwork
Month end arrives, and the showroom sends photos of receipts in a chat.
With Qoyod: invoices and receipts stay in Qoyod, and your accountant reviews them directly as a user.
An invoice came back from JoFotara
And nobody in the showroom knows why.
With Qoyod: each invoice is checked at field level as it is created, with an alert to any error before it goes to JoFotara, to reduce rejections.
Cash or receivable?
A car sold on bank finance or on account needs the right variant: each JoFotara invoice type has a cash and a receivable one.
With Qoyod: the document type and payment method are checked on every invoice before it is sent.
Special sales tax on cars
Cars carry the special sales tax on top of General Sales Tax.
With Qoyod: the special tax invoice is among the supported JoFotara invoice types.
2. One car’s journey, from purchase to JoFotara
Five stops for one car, each adding a number to its tag.
Stop 1: Buying the car
Set up the car in Qoyod as its own product with its own code, and record the chassis number, model and colour in the product’s additional fields.
Stop 2: Its real cost
Enter the car’s actual cost on its purchase invoice, including shipping and customs. If you paid in dollars, you set and update the exchange rate.
Stop 3: The deposit
Record the deposit as a customer receipt before the invoice exists, then allocate it to the sales invoice at delivery so it is deducted from the total.
Stop 4: The invoice and JoFotara
Qoyod sends the sales invoice to the National Invoicing System with no manual steps and no certificate or signature of your own. The status panel then shows it as sent, previously sent, or not sent with the error message. On the invoice, Qoyod displays the QR code the Income and Sales Tax Department returns.
Stop 5: Its margin in dinars
The product cost and profit-margin report shows the car’s margin, calculated from its actual purchase invoice.
3. Car dealer accounting software in Jordan: what Qoyod covers around the car
E-invoicing and accounting, integrated in one system. Yards, branches, the bank and buyers who have not paid in full surround every car, so car dealership software that only sees sales is not enough. Here are six areas Qoyod covers.
A showroom in Amman, a yard in Zarqa
Set up each showroom or yard as a location, move cars between locations and set each user’s access by location.
Each branch as a cost centre
A branch with the same activity and chart of accounts becomes a cost centre through Projects, with its own income statement.
What each buyer still owes
Record partial payments on the invoice, then follow the balance in the customer statement and the receivables ageing report.
Bank reconciliation
Reconcile your bank statement against your entries, and record a bank’s payment for a financed car as an ordinary receipt.
Your cars from one Excel file
Import your stock list as products in one go from an Excel file.
On the yard, not at the desk
The Qoyod mobile app is available in Jordan.
4. Your showroom and the National Invoicing System (JoFotara)
The e-invoicing mandate covers every seller of goods or provider of services, not only those registered for General Sales Tax, except for activities that the Invoicing Affairs Instructions exempt under set conditions. A seller that is not registered issues an income invoice. Mandatory application has been in force since 1 April 2025, with oversight steadily tightening.
Fines range from JOD 200 to 500 and double on repetition (Article 64 of the Income Tax Law), and failing to issue a proper invoice (فاتورة أصولية) may be treated as tax evasion, with a fine equal to the tax difference (Article 66).
The standard General Sales Tax rate is 16%. Cars also carry the special sales tax on top of it, with its own invoice type in JoFotara.
More than 25,000 businesses run on Qoyod under a similar e-invoicing mandate.
5. Your accountant is part of the decision

7. Frequently asked questions
Does a car showroom have to invoice through JoFotara?
The mandate covers every seller of goods or provider of services, except for activities that the Invoicing Affairs Instructions exempt under set conditions. Mandatory application has been in force since 1 April 2025, with oversight steadily tightening. A showroom not registered for General Sales Tax issues an income invoice.
Are car showrooms exempt from JoFotara?
Car showrooms do not appear by name in the list of exempt activities in Article (4) of the Invoicing Affairs Instructions, so check the text in force for your activity.
How do I invoice a car that carries special sales tax in Qoyod?
Qoyod supports JoFotara’s invoice types, including the special tax invoice. For the special sales tax rate on a specific car, check with the Income and Sales Tax Department or your accountant.
A car sold on bank finance: cash invoice or receivable invoice?
Each JoFotara invoice type has a cash and a receivable variant: cash for what is paid at the sale, receivable for what stays on account. Choose by how the buyer actually pays and confirm with your accountant. Qoyod checks the document type and payment method before sending.
Can my accountant work in the showroom’s books?
Yes. Add them as a user on your Qoyod account with a role and permissions you set, so they can review invoices and their JoFotara status, and export reports.
We import cars ourselves. When do we register for General Sales Tax?
Importers have no registration threshold. You register within 30 days of your first import, unless the import is for personal use.
That completes the car’s tag: code, cost, deposit, JoFotara invoice and margin in dinars.
