Frequently asked questions about Qoyod

Direct, practical answers to what business owners and accountants in Jordan ask most, covering the accounting software, the National Invoicing System, integrations, and the free trial.

01 About Qoyod and data security

What is Qoyod?

Qoyod is a complete cloud accounting system covering invoices, expenses, inventory and financial reports, used by more than 25,000 businesses in markets with mandatory e-invoicing. In Jordan it arrives integrated with the National Invoicing System and its 16% general sales tax.

Is Qoyod compliant with the National Invoicing System?

Yes. You issue the invoice in Qoyod, it is sent in UBL 2.1 to the National Invoicing System, cleared by the Income and Sales Tax Department, and comes back with an official QR code that Qoyod prints on the invoice. The department publishes no approved-vendor list, so what is claimed here is a working integration, not a licence. Details on the JoFotara compliance page.

Where is my data stored, and is Qoyod secure?

Qoyod is fully cloud-based, and your data sits on secure servers with automatic daily backups. Connections are fully encrypted (HTTPS/TLS), and access rights are managed per user so each employee sees only their own scope.

Do I need to install software on my device?

No. Qoyod runs entirely in the browser on any device, laptop, desktop, tablet or phone, anywhere with an internet connection. There is no installer, no manual updates, and no operating-system restriction.

Is there a Qoyod mobile app?

Yes. The Qoyod app is available for iOS and Android to manage invoices and customers and follow your business from your phone, syncing automatically with your web account.

02 Free trial and subscription

How long is the Qoyod free trial?

The free trial runs a full 14 days, during which you can try Qoyod's core features and decide what suits your business.

Do I need a credit card to start the free trial?

No. An email address and a mobile number are enough to sign up, and you will not be asked for any payment details during the trial.

Can I cancel my subscription at any time?

Yes. The subscription is flexible: you can stop auto-renewal or end the subscription at any time from your account settings, and you can export your full records before closing.

03 Core accounting software

What is the difference between Qoyod for business owners and Qoyod for accountants?

Qoyod for business owners is built for people running their own business and focuses on simplicity and on automating invoices, expenses and instant reports. Qoyod for accountants adds advanced tooling: journal-entry templates, automated monthly close, accounting dimensions and review reports. Both sit on the same platform, and an owner can grant access to the accounting firm they work with.

Does Qoyod support multiple branches?

Yes. You can create several branches under the same account and monitor each one separately, or view consolidated reports for the whole business from a single dashboard, with per-branch employee permissions.

Does Qoyod support multiple currencies?

Yes. You can issue invoices and record payments in different currencies, with exchange rates updated and currency differences posted automatically. The Jordanian dinar is shown to three decimal places.

Can I issue invoices compliant with the National Invoicing System?

Yes. Qoyod builds a UBL 2.1 file and a UUID for every invoice and submits it to the National Invoicing System for real-time clearance before the invoice reaches the buyer, then prints the QR code the department returns. How the connection works is set out on the JoFotara integration page.

Does Qoyod support accounting dimensions and cost centres?

Yes. Qoyod for accountants supports classifying transactions by department, project, branch or cost centre, giving you detailed profitability reports for every part of your business.

Does Qoyod calculate depreciation on fixed assets?

Yes. The fixed-assets module tracks your assets, calculates straight-line depreciation over the asset's useful life, and generates the monthly depreciation entry automatically.

Can accountants create standard journal-entry templates?

Yes. Qoyod for accountants lets you design recurring journal templates for payroll, provisions and accruals and share them with the team to keep entries consistent and prevent errors, with deferred entries for the monthly close.

04 E-invoicing and sales tax

What is the National Invoicing System?

It is Jordan's national e-invoicing system (JoFotara), run by the Income and Sales Tax Department together with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship. Every invoice for goods or services must be issued through it or through software connected to it, and an invoice without the QR code it returns is not a legal invoice.

Who has to issue e-invoices in Jordan?

Every seller of goods or provider of services, not only businesses registered for general sales tax, and that includes professionals such as doctors, lawyers and consultants. A business not registered for sales tax issues an income invoice with no tax; a registered one issues a general sales tax invoice at 16%. For exempt categories, consult the billing and control instructions.

How does Qoyod calculate general sales tax automatically?

You set the tax rate at item or invoice level, and Qoyod applies the 16% general sales tax, a special rate, or an exemption, posts the matching accounting entry, and prepares the return report ready for review.

Which invoice types does Qoyod issue in Jordan?

The income invoice for businesses not registered for sales tax, the general sales tax invoice for registered businesses, and the special tax invoice for items carrying special rates, each in cash or on-account form, plus credit notes for returns.

What is the penalty for non-compliance?

An invoice not issued through the National Invoicing System is not a valid tax document, so the buyer loses the sales-tax input deduction and the expense is not recognised for income tax. Fines can reach JOD 500 per violation, on top of exclusion from government tenders and procurement.

Do I need a developer or a digital certificate to connect?

No. You connect with three values generated in your portal account under device linking: a Client ID, a Secret Key and an activity number, entered in Qoyod's settings once. The National Invoicing System asks the taxpayer for no signature and no certificate.

05 Integrations, API and resources

Which integrations are available for the Jordanian market?

The National Invoicing System connection, WhatsApp, email, Zapier, the mobile apps, and the API.

Is there an API to integrate my own systems?

Yes. Qoyod provides a documented API so you can connect your own systems, your store or your internal tools to your account, read your data and issue invoices programmatically.

What learning resources does Qoyod offer?

The resources section holds articles, guides, accounting terminology, ready-made templates and calculators, alongside the help centre, which walks through every screen in the system step by step.
