  2. It consists of 15 numbers, divided as follows:
  • The first number is the identification number of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia within the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
  • From the second digit to the ninth digit (eight digits), this is the facility’s unique serial number.
  • The tenth number is the verification number.
  • From the eleventh to the thirteenth number (three numbers): These are numbers related to the company affiliated with the tax payment system.
  • The fourteenth and fifteenth numbers (the last two digits) are two numbers that indicate the type of tax.

  3. Choose Zakat, tax, and customs services.

  6. Choose one of the following services:
  • VAT registration service for establishments: This is intended for establishments that engage in commercial activity subject to value-added tax.
  • Individuals’ registration for value-added tax service: It is an optional service intended for individuals who engage in economic activity in the Kingdom and whose annual revenues are more than 187,500 riyals and less than 375,000 riyals.
  • Group registration service for value-added tax: It is intended for two or more legal persons residing in the Kingdom and who meet the legal conditions for registration as a group, and they are treated as one person in everything related to value-added tax purposes without prejudice to the joint responsibility of all members of the group after their request is approved:
  1. Fill out the registration form with all the required information and data.
  2. Wait until a notification arrives for the tax certificate when the request is completed. The certificate contains the tax number for the establishment, individual, or group.

2: Registration for excise goods tax

Establishments can verify the tax number after obtaining it when registering for the excise goods tax, which is specific to establishments that produce, import, or possess goods that are harmful to the environment or public health, such as fizzy drinks, soft drinks, energy drinks, electronic smoking devices, liquids. in which they are used, and tobacco products. Registration for excise goods tax is done by following the following steps:

  1. Log in to the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority website.
  2. Click on the Electronic Services menu.
  3. Choose Zakat, tax, and customs services.
  4. Choose tax services.
  5. Select (excise goods tax).
  6. Choose (excise tax registration service).
  7. Submit the application and fill out the forms.
  8. Wait until you receive a notification when the order is completed.
